ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION & OPPORTUNITY  Waste Ventures India is a successful for-profit company that is changing paradigms in solid waste management by employing low-income individuals to environmentally process waste, which we then sell as compost to farmers. We are not content in creating a profitable venture; we create waste picker livelihoods, work to prevent 90% of waste we sort from being dumped, reduce greenhouse gases, and increase agricultural productivity.  We are pioneering Hyderabad's first total waste solution for housing societies and corporate campuses, raising the standard for waste collection and processing across the city. We seek a Senior Manager, Urban Waste Management to build upon our initial traction and amplify our efforts by leading the overall strategy and execution of our Urban Waste Management service. As a senior leader on the team, the Senior Manager, Urban Waste Management will help direct Waste Ventures India's broader strategy.  RESPONSIBILITIES  The primary responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Urban Waste Management are:  1) Develop and lead the strategy for our Urban Waste Management business line  - Develop Strategic business unit timeline, short- and long-term   - Assess appropriate engagement models (i.e. franchisee model, direct implementation, etc.)   - Determine customer segmentation and targeting strategy, and develop an appropriate pricing and service offering strategy   2) Lead the acquisition of new projects for waste collection and management in Hyderabad  - Identify and pitch WVI to potential partners within Hyderabad including environmentally-conscious housing societies, academic institutions, and/or corporate offices  - Develop standardized materials to support marketing and proposal to potential partners  - Lead contract evaluation and negotiation  - Work in close collaboration with the Recycling Pickup & Processing vertical to identify synergies   3) Implement and maintain efficient and sustainable project operations  - Identify innovative ways to manage clients- waste based on customer needs and waste profile  - Identify and track project key performance indicators  - Manage relationships with project clients  - Hire project-specific personnel (e.g. waste pickers, informal workers)  4) Direct overall team and service line management  - Build and oversee a management and operations teams for the Urban Waste Management vertical, including leading recruitment and onboarding of new team members  - Set business unit / team goals and monthly budgets  - Provide ongoing reporting to company leadership and Board of Directors  - Help build an Advisory team with expertise in environmental waste processing  Beyond the specific aforementioned core objectives, the role will have the following responsibilities:  - Collaborate closely with other team members  - Provide support in varied areas beyond the job description, as needed  QUALIFICATIONS  Experience  - High-performing undergraduate background required, graduate degree preferred  - 3 - 8 years of professional experience, preferably with background in business development, project management, or client services such as management consulting  - Considerable experience managing multiple varied stakeholders across numerous projects  - Background in solid waste management is a plus  - Mix of Western and emerging markets work or educational experience is a plus  - Hindi language ability is required, Telugu is a plus  Other skills  Waste Ventures India's work culture is one of - Innovators but Doers- (with track records to prove it!).
