Shotang is a B2B eCommerce marketplace for retailers, distributors and manufacturers to discover, transact and manage their business online.

Our ambition is to enable millions of retailers across emerging economies to order for and make payments for their inventory online, eventually leading to higher profitability for them. Our open marketplace model also helps distributors and manufacturers rationalize their costs and improve productivity of processes significantly.

The vision is to play a critical role in accelerating growth in the retail distribution business with its cutting edge technology.

Funding and Investors of the company :

Shotang has raised $5 million in Series A funding from venture capital Exfinity Venture Partners and Unitus Impact Livelihoods Fund.

Raised nearly 500 k USD from Bitchemy Ventures in the seed round.

Leadership Team

Shotang was co-founded by Anish Basu Roy and Anterpreet Singh. Both of them were colleagues at Nokia and have a cumulative experience of nearly 15 years in various sales, distribution and channel development roles with leading brands like Coca Cola, P&G and Nokia,They have engineering degrees and a PGDM from SCMHRD and IIM A Respectively.

What's unique about us :

The Indian retail market is highly fragmented and has over 14 million retailers that make up over 95% of the retail industry. Given the huge scope, Shotang has in a short period of time been able to build a strong network of distributors in South India but mainly focusing on 1 category. Given this background, Shotang is looking to ramp up its team across verticals and geographies which will be responsible for building the business for the company.

We will be a good match if :

- You have the zeal to be the custodian of Shotang brand.

- You are a self-starter with a deep understanding of lead generation, the different stages of the marketing funnel.

- You believe strongly in testing and measuring results.

Your roles and responsibilities :

- End to end responsibility for Shotang's branding & marketing.

- Own the marketing (Online and Offline) strategy. Manage branding, advertising, promotions, & communication activities ensuring maximum brand visibility among the target audience.

- Partner with all business functions, especially sales to develop strategy and tactical implementation of marketing initiatives.

- Integrated Campaign Development: Execute an integrated mix of email, digital, lead-nurturing and content marketing campaigns for consumers, suppliers and internal audience.

- Develop lead generation/campaign program objectives, goals, and metrics, and define best practices, standards, and processes to drive successful user acquisition.

- Develop a series of loyalty driving initiatives that ensure high user retention and repeats.

Campaign Calendar :

- Maintain calendar of all demand generation programs, budgets, and metrics to optimize awareness and lead generation efforts.

- Targeting/Segmentation : Segment target audiences based on demographic and firmographic criteria.

What are we looking for :

- 5+ years of marketing/product management experience, handling marketing, promotions or loyalty programs, ideally eCommerce or retail business of significant scale.

- An experienced planner and project manager, with strong cross-team coordination skills.

- Must be comfortable operating at different levels in the organization, and across various teams.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to articulate ideas and persuade stakeholders.

Good to have :

- Willingness & passion to learn, implement new things.

- The ideal candidate will bring a sharp analytical mind, have strong coordination ability and can roll up his/her sleeves to get things done.

- They must have a customer-oriented mindset and must have a strong track record in building scalable marketing/promotional programs across multiple channels.

- Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment with competing priorities

- Quick thinker with the ability to operate with a commercial and customer-focused view
