You should be -
- Hands on with code in either of PHP, MYSQL, Codeigniter, and Openchart.
- Experienced in programming in at least one dynamic language. Multi-programming-lingual is a must. The more the merrier.
- Comfortable working in a *nix environment.
- Eager to learn new tools, techniques, languages, and technologies.
- Passionate about making a difference to the world.
- Able to contribute to system architecture and design.
- Able to debug non-trivial application code.
- Able to write clear, concise source-code documentation, unit and integration tests.
- Able to think beyond code to architecture and user experience.
- Able to communicate and coordinate within a team.
- Knowledge of LAMP, other web technologies required.
- Great DB skills
- Ability of setting up and managing cloud based systems
- Managing, leading and 'growing' a tech team to become 'managers'
- Knowledge of the processes & systems required to 'build' large global scale systems
- Great communication skills & a love for life! ;-)
- Experience: 8 - 15 years (depends on how good you really are)!
Nice but not required -
- BTech in CS, with strong product development experience.
- If the you're from IIT background more preferable.
- Prior experience with e-commerce or web application development
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Understanding of scope, closures, callbacks, prototypical inheritance, and asynchronous programming techniques
- Experience with node.js or core javascript (beyond form validation)
- Experience with mysql and/or nosql databases, memcached, nginx
- Experience with git
- Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development
- Experience with HTML5, CSS, JQuery, Web application development
