Lead Engineering - Digital Platforms

Reporting to Head, Digital

This role is responsible for guiding the technology team on development, platforms and initiatives related to the web and digital initiatives of the company

Key Responsibilities

- Create and envision web-based services that meet consumer needs or solve business problems

- Develop and manage high traffic web applications with scalability and high reliability

- Responsible for finalizing the technology partner(s) and managing the relationships.

- Responsible for timely and successfully delivery of the technology solutions for the organization.

- Responsible for ongoing support and other activities related to technology.

- Responsible for managing the entire front end and back end operations of the technology involved across the organization.

- Driving the culture of constant innovation and improvement

- Maintaining the overall budget for the department

- Lead integration with back-end systems and Tibco-layer

- Recruit, lead and manage a joint team with IT for digital platform developments & integration

- Stakeholder management on C-level and working level with the various Jio teams

- Design the technical architecture, create and deliver specifications for product development

- Engage with the Product Manager and other key stakeholders in analyzing and evaluating the product functionalities, and provide technical direction to the product

- Lead the product development from a technical standpoint, and take end-to-end responsibility for all things technical for the product - from technology selection to architecture and design to working with, and guiding the engineering team in delivering the product per agreed timelines.

- Developing products through agile methodology

Educational Qualifications

- Graduate in any specialization

- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, from a premier institute

Years of Experience -12+ years

Candidates with experience with

Consultancy (IBM, Accenture, Infosys, Cap Gemini, Sapient)

Digital Player (Bank, Travel Portal, Airline)

Online retailer (Flipkart, Snapdeal Amazon etc.)

- Prior Experience in E-commerce Platforms

- Handled large Technology teams

- Leading-edge digital and web solutions

Knowledge & Skills (Indicate which criteria are mandatory)

12+ years of eCommerce / Internet product /platform development experience or working with any top-notch product company.

- Ability to coordinate among various stake holders and drive the solution to closure/ implementation

- Ability to lead company's vision through proper strategies- defining various milestones and having an internal vision for the solution coming out of company's vision.

- Experience in managing and successfully driving multiple projects and teams

- Demonstrated analytical skills - Ability to execute online customer experiences

- Customer focus

- Technical expertise with experience on latest technical trends in e-commerce industry. Sound experience in object oriented development as well as experience in frameworks is must.

- Ability to transfer technical knowledge to the team

- Strong communication

- Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically

- Strong bias for action and ability to prioritize

- Aptitude for organization, flexibility and producing results in a fast paced environment
