Valuation Control is a specialist function within Product Control
- The independent validation of the more complex, structured trades.
- The independent validation Credit Suisse's trading position valuations
- Driving, evaluating and integrating new testing processes and procedures from a variety of sources into this centralised specialised team in Pune
- The provision of reliable and meaningful financial information
Together we contribute to the control over the valuation integrity of a large and expanding portion of trades.
The role reports into the Global Head of Structured Trade Reviews in Singapore and the Pune Product Control Site Head.
The Role Involves:
- Management and oversight of a team of approx 20 people with responsibility for Structured Trade Reviews, monthend and intra-month price testing and on-going deployment efforts.
- Providing technical and professional leadership to an extremely bright, ambitious team on a range of complex issues spanning asset classes.
- Liaison with senior Product Control management on specific trade and valuation issues and on-going deployment efforts.
- Liaison with senior management in Front Office when required on valuation issues arising out of the STR process.
Essential:
- Strong Fixed Income valuation experience and knowledge.
- Previous experience in a Product Control or other valuations oriented area with exposure to performance of structured trade reviews an advantage.
- Prior experience managing small specialist team in a banking environment.
- Solid understanding of valuation principles spanning a range of asset classes.
- Ability to think critically, challenge and improve existing processes.
- Ability to manage a growing team in a rapidly changing environment.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Appreciation of challenges and opportunities associated with working across cultures, tome zones and locations.
Desirable:
- Experience of managing a large and diverse team
- Further qualification in accounting and / or valuation
- Good appreciation of Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
