A premier foreign Investment Bank has been expanding its sales & trading platform in India, providing a full range of investment banking, sales & trading, fixed income, commodities and derivative products, as well as research services. Building on this existing platform in India, they are looking to invest in establishing an Operations division that will continue to recognise and match the global need of their clients.

The team Manager for the Global Equity and Fixed Income Derivatives Operations group will be accountable for establishing and running the team in Mumbai and working in conjunction with the appropriate regional leads from within the Equity and Fixed Income Derivatives and Commodity Operations group. The Equity and Fixed Income Derivatives and Commodity Operations group is dedicated to providing full support to the various Global desks.

The team’s responsibilities include:

- Trade & Business Unit Support

- Position and Control Functions

- Data Integrity & Risk Reporting

- Confirmation Drafting and Confirmation processing

- Trade electronic matching

General Position Summary:

- The role is multi-faceted, offering the opportunity to take ownership for project managing the expansion of the team in Mumbai. The build of the team will include hiring and defining the team structure as well as the subsequent implementation of core functions from Europe, Asia and US into the central hub.

- The functions supported are from Europe, North America and Asia. Additional functions may require transitioning in the future.

- Along with the continued transition responsibilities, the candidate will have ownership for the global governance of the Mumbai team from a strategic standpoint helping establish a globally consistent model, as well assuming accountability for day-to-day operations, staff leadership and development.

- As a key member of the Mumbai Derivative Management Team, the candidate will need to quickly establish and maintain strong relationships with their peers across the core locations.

- In addition, they will be required to engage all relevant stakeholders such as Finance and the Client Service Group, to ensure unfailing levels of support and continued dialogue.

- The role will require the candidate to understand, investigate and communicate the impact of the core functions downstream as necessary.

- The nature of this role will be complex, challenging, diverse and rewarding.

- The team manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a very strong control & risk management environment, driving front-to-back efficiencies and process enhancements and will be accountable to the regional heads from a process and control integrity standpoint.

Job Responsibilities:

- Responsible for recruitment and training of the team.

- Establish, build & maintain effective partnership and relationships with regional heads

- Key stakeholder in defining & implementing operating model for the global offshore location across each business & product line in scope

- On-going planning and management of resource requirements both strategically and day-to-day basis.

- Accountable for Process and Risk Management of the team.

- Accountable for client satisfaction and service impact.

- Integration of any IT or Infrastructure developments or changes to process.

- Keep management in Europe, North America and Asia informed of progress of the team by providing regular metrics

- Analyze current workflow, processes & systems and recommend ways to make it more efficient.

- Responsible for performance evaluation, leave management and other administrative functions
