VP Business Planning & Strategy for MNC Banking BPO in Bangalore.

Purpose of Department :

COBAM provides a single, global on-boarding and account maintenance service to various customer groups within such as (Global Banking & Markets). We support more than 40 sites, from regional hubs in London, Paris, Dubai, New York, Mexico and Hong Kong, backed by service centres in India, Malaysia and Poland.

Our services include

1) KYC Due Diligence and Client Identification Validation

2) Client Document Negotiation

3) Credit Analysis and Application Preparation and

4) Data Management Services – Enterprise Reference Data System, Account Maintenance and SSI.

Our Service Centres play a vital role in the service delivery value proposition by undertaking full responsibility of service production under the guidance of global functional heads. These service centers have grown rapidly over the last 5 years and COBAM is now a ~900 FTE team, accounting for more than 60% of our global staff with significant growth expected in 2013 and beyond. We are in the process of further strengthening our core BAU disciplines as well as our governance to manage growth and contribute significantly to implement key projects.

This position, Vice President – Business Planning & Strategy for COBAM APAC Centres will work closely with the Head of COBAM APAC Service Centres in driving Key initiatives and will have ownership over governance across COBAM sites over the coming years. Core areas of responsibilities for the role holder are highlighted below.

Job Description :

- Work closely with the Head of COBAM APAC Centres in driving and leading various projects from APAC
centres and in delivering effectively on growth targets set for COBAM APAC Centres; this will require the role holder to work closely with a variety of stakeholders both onshore / offshore / functions / sectors and COBAM & support teams in coordinating required support.

- A major part of this role will entail oversight & project management of migrations as well playing a key role
in strategic projects including location strategy for COBAM offshore

- Role holder will be responsible for successfully establishing governance forums required to review
operational performance of the department across variety of parameters and this will require the individual to
conceptualize centralized MIS and reporting across teams / sites / themes

- The individual will be responsible for establishing world class disciplines around people and finance some of
which will include areas such as annual operating plans, strategy and activities around global people
survey, staff engagement, etc.; role holder will have to work closely with various support teams such as the
business managers across functions and central teams such as MIS, business support, etc.

- Role holder will be responsible for overall communication strategy of the APAC Service centres,
responsible for enhancing the overall visibility of our value proposition to stakeholders including internal staff; these will include town hall meetings; periodic staff and stakeholder updates, etc.

- Individual will be responsible for sharing best practices and bringing consistency across our various people
practices such as performance management timelines, practices, travel policies and practices across sites

- Role holder will act as a single point of contact for all information needs by various teams across COEs; onshore business management functions, etc.

Skills/Experience Required

- Banking BPO industry experience & analytical aptitude; ~14-18 years of relevant work experience in
managing senior stakeholders in a metrics organisation

- Strong academic background (finance post-graduation, MBA); project management (PMP certification) is
an added advantage

- Strong Project Management / transition management experience

- Highly proficient in MS Office especially MS Excel and reporting techniques

- Clear capabilities in building and managing complex relationships with senior business stakeholders and
for service delivery commitments

- Strong communication, negotiation / influencing and presentation skills.
