- The Analytics COE provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development and implementation, reporting and data management. It forms the information basis for strategic planning by the senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges.

- The role is within Risk MI & Reporting job family supporting various functions including Data Management, Business Intelligence Reporting and Infrastructure. This role will be in a team that is expected to design and develop Information Management Solutions which will help business drive informed decisions

- The key responsibility is to support the Governance, MI & Reporting programme and to improve, standardise and simplify all Risk Governance Committee Reporting packs, including RMC packs, whilst standardising the production process, and implementing a robust change control process to ensure consistency of Risk MI reporting across the Global Risk function.

- The role has significant responsibility in improving the coherence, consistency and clarity of Risk MI reporting including analysis internally and externally and in making the process more efficient.

- To lead specific programmes aimed at aligning the Risk MI & Reporting programme with the HSBC and the Global Risk data strategy across all Risk functions

- The incumbent would contribute in information management deliverables that involve but not restricted to, Developing Data marts, warehouses using various ETL technologies and Building reporting framework, end user information delivery applications using BI and Web technologies.

- In-depth business knowledge across a breadth of functional areas and the bank's business units. Incumbent should be proficient in evaluating new technologies and identifying practical business application, key data issues, and input into the development of the bank's and Global Risk data strategy and roadmap accordingly.

- The incumbent would be required to Interpret and support region-specific data policies, standards and frameworks in line with best practice, liaising with risk experts across the organization.

- This role requires the incumbent to provide technical/functional leadership to multiple teams and ensure execution of projects/analysis/reporting as per the agreed timelines and with accuracy and quality from the teams.

Education / Relevant Experience / Other Qualifications

Knowledge

- Deep knowledge of the information requirements of a large diversified Global bank, including relevant regulatory reporting requirements

- Information on solutions which have been used elsewhere to deliver information requirements similar to those of the Risk Function would be beneficial

- Knowledge of best practices related to data governance and tools-based data quality improvement
Experience

- Experience of data architecture, data integration, data classification, data strategy, data quality management, data security and privacy, master data management, data standards and enterprise architecture frameworks

- Good business awareness acquired over the last 10-15 years through a range of roles in line management and risk-related roles

- Experience of dealing with senior management up to and including Board level

- Experience of information delivery

- Leadership experience with small but highly qualified teams

- Experience of operating in high pressured environments with demanding deliverables in tight timescales

- Project management and change management experience

- Experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the bank, including industry regulators

- Proven experience in setting organisational direction and communicating and implementing overall strategic goals

- Ability to relate to management up to Board level

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships

- Ability to think creatively to drive innovative solutions

- Ability to build connections and work collaboratively across boundaries

- Confident, articulate, persuasive, with enhanced change management skills

- Strong communication skills, in particular the ability to produce high quality reports which are articulate and effectively deliver the right message to the recipients

- Well-developed influencing skills
