JOB TITLE: Head - Production  Job Category : L-8/9  Job Purpose / Goals and Objectives :   - Voylla is planning to set up a world class manufacturing facility for fashion jewelry. The candidate would be responsible for setting up and managing the facility.  - Major crux of expertise is in leading Greenfield projects in terms of conceptualizing, executing and in setting up manufacturing facilities. The candidate should be well versed with Designing Material flow, Conceptualizing Layouts, implementing Quality Management System, Recruiting requisite Manpower, Implementing Statutory requirements etc.  - Based on the Business forecast, identifying capex, building, layout and investment requirement and preparing a holistic strategy for the long term.   - Managing end to end manufacturing and ensuring timely deliveries with required quality level and within desired costs.  Reporting Relationship :   Reports to Chief Operating Officer  Duties and Responsibilities :   Operations Management :   - Improving Manufacturing capabilities by creating strategies in co-ordination with the design team specially in the area of new launches so as to achieve desired costs at required quality levels.  - Continual evaluation and improvement in processes to achieve Cycle time reduction, improved quality, reduction in WIP inventory, reduced wastages and costs, better equipment efficiency etc.   - Ensure smooth material and information flow.  - Effective and Efficient trouble shooting by Root cause analysis through use of Six sigma tools and monitoring the performance.  - Good understanding of Maintenance and Utilities function with hands on exposure to the TPM methodology.   - Reduction in operational cost through various initiatives on Variable and Fixed overheads like Power & fuel, gases and oils, consumables, spares and repair and maintenance costs besides manpower costs.   Production Planning and Control :   - Liaise with Merchandising team to plan the capacity and the production  - Plan the production flow to optimize the resources, machines and material utilization  - Achieve minimum deviation with respect to delivery, quality and cost goals  Quality Management :   - Establishing a system of quality management and ensuring pass through defects are covered through an organized approach.  - Establishing and maintaining ISO 9000 / ISO 14000/ OHSAS 18000  - Expertise in the field of Analytical techniques like DMAIC / QC TOOLS / SPC / SQC in problem solving and various improvements.  Material Management :   - Hands on expertise in the field of Material flow through various relevant systems whereby Lead times are controlled and eventually improved.  - Instrumental in designing material flow from the Supplier end to dispatch to the Customer.  - Knowledgeable on Inventory management, Inventory turn control, and other material planning and logistic function.  Key Technical Skill :   - Experience of 12+ years with established manufacturing Units, experience from premium brands will be a definite advantage  - Should have managed a jewellery manufacturing plant with output - 60K units per month  - B.Tech / Masters degree in Business Management related discipline is preferred  - Strong analytical skills with ability to deliver insightful ideas, excited to draw findings from figures  - Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills  - Proactive, responsible, attention to detail   - Ability to manage large teams including shop floor employees  - Ability to work in a quick and multi-cultural environment  - Fluency in written and spoken English  - Dedicated to develop the expertise in the environment of premium lifestyle brands   Key Desired Skill :   - Hands on experience in charting out business plans & strategies and contributing towards enhancing business volumes and achieving profitability norms.  - Accumulated expertise in business development including new technology identification and existing market penetration.
