Vodafone - Retail Sales Manager (5-8 yrs)
Role purpose:
The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales operations across all Vodafone retail including Vodafone stores, Vodafone Mini-stores (VMS), and AD-VMS in a circle.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
Essence of the role:
- Implement the circle retail strategy through growth in revenues and engaging with channel partners
- Achieve Gross and Net Acquisition target in the circle
- Developing new promotional programs/incentive schemes for the channel partners to drive sales
- Develop strategy to increase footfalls and conversions at the outlets
- Assist Retail Head in recommending new product launches to increase penetration / revenues from new / existing subscribers
- Provide feedback on competitive moves to protect base and increase share of subscribers and revenue
Strategic :
- Provide inputs to the overall circle retail strategy to drive profitability of the channel
- Develop strategy to increase the footfalls and conversions at retail outlets
- Develop channel expansion strategy by evaluating retail channel coverage and penetration
- Develop channel engagement strategy and promotional programs with the zone retail leads
Plan new product launches with the circle S&M and Marketing Heads
Operational :
- Achieve circle revenue target for the retail channel for all products
- Develop and improve upon existing partnership models across zones
- Maintain high quality of sales operations as determined by quality audits
- Achieve Retail expansion targets by appointing and monitoring distribution partners in new and existing areas
- Resolve retail issues in zones and branches within specific timelines
- Conduct channel partner engagement activities
Receive timely feedback and inputs from Zonal Retail Leads
People:
- Resolving Vodafone store specific issues in zone within specific timelines
- Ensure employee satisfaction thereby reducing attrition
- Relationship management with key channel partners
Developments :
- Identification of development areas, and recommending the training programs / interventions
- Best practice sharing - within the circle and other circles
HSW Compliance
- Ensure that the HSW norms are adhered to
Key performance indicators
- Achievement of key targets for the Vodafone stores, VMS, ADVMS (Revenue, cost savings)
- Achievement of targeted gross and net acquisitions
- Achievement of expansion targets through greater penetration and geographical expansion
- Achieve ROI for channel partners (as defined in partnership model)
- Ensuring smooth operations across all Vodafone stores, VMS, ADVMS in the circle
- Enhance access and reach of retail outlets
- Resolving Vodafone store specific issues in zone within specific timelines
- Ensure employee satisfaction thereby reducing attrition
- Relationship management with key channel partners
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Ability to lead a retail channel, with large number of retail stores of varying sizes and complexity
- Ability to manage in dynamic, high-growth, high-uncertainty environments
- Influencing skills, effective relationship management skills and proven ability to function within a matrix-organisation
- Independent thought leadership and drive to execute - should be a recognised industry leader in his/ her specific area of competence
Experience
- 5 -7 years of experience in FMCG/retail industry
- Multi-national, multi-geography team leadership experience to bring in best practices
- Experience with distribution planning and channel implementation
- P&L management skills.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Essential : Graduation
- Desired : Full - time Post - Graduation in business management/MBA
