Also, as India's population grows young, most advanced nations of the world are growing old, offering India an opportunity to become the global talent supplier. Catalyzing job creation and skill development become the two primary target areas of focus for the Foundation.  During the last decade, Wadhwani Foundation has launched five high impact Initiatives in India. These include promoting entrepreneurial and employment skills, tapping the educated disabled, encouraging innovation and driving policy changes to jump-start economic opportunities. To address persistently high youth and displaced-worker unemployment in the U.S, Wadhwani Foundation launched the - Race to a Job- initiative in 2012.  The Foundation drives job creation and skill development in India through five Initiatives:  - National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) inspires, educates and supports first generation entrepreneurs to create millions of jobs & represents India's largest and most dynamic community of new and future high-growth entrepreneurs.  - Skills Development Network (SDN) aims to revolutionize skill development by leveraging technology & program management of government initiatives to create millions of highly-skilled knowledge workers globally.  - Opportunity Network for Disabled (OND) aims to mainstream the educated disabled into sustainable high-quality corporate jobs.  - Policy Initiative drives the research based policy actions in collaboration with State and Central Governments, in the area of economic development.  - Research & Innovation Network (RIN) aims to propel India towards leadership in innovation by encouraging and enabling world-class research coupled with industry/company creation.  Looking ahead :  The Foundation's Initiatives in India are impacting large scale economic growth by creating millions of employment opportunities and making the youth employable. With its primary mission of nation building, The Wadhwani Foundation, in addition, is now aggressively driving economic acceleration in other emerging economies by capitalizing on its experience and success in India.  In India, the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) is focused on enhancing the quality of start-ups in the eco-system by driving development of innovation eco-system, strengthening & expanding resources for supporting start-ups, and through mainstreaming entrepreneurial education. Additionally, the Foundation is expanding its impact base, network and capacity building model to other emerging economies around Asia and Africa, which despite great entrepreneurial opportunities are plagued by structural and/or institutional weaknesses. The Foundation's approach in these countries is to jump-start the capacity building process for entrepreneurial eco-systems through sharing its IP, resources and experiences; and forging strong and deep partnerships on the ground with government, academic institutions, foundations, entrepreneur associations and investors. Emerging economies that we are currently focused on include Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan.   Skills Development Network (SDN) is expanding the schools program to more States in India, developing partnerships across Industry segments as a development partner in technology-enabled curriculum & courseware, providing implementation support for pilot community colleges and supporting the development of curriculum for job programs in U.S. Given skill-gap is a global phenomenon, the Foundation is looking to build upon its experience in U.S and India by providing a global open access learner-centric technology platform for high-demand jobs in the world.  The Foundation's Policy Research Centre is focusing on research areas of innovation, innovation-driven entrepreneurship, small businesses and skill development, while the two Policy Chairs are looking to rebuild the India-U.S partnership through driving select high-impact, low hanging policy actions that could benefit both countries.  Opportunity Network for Disabled (OND) is engaging deeply with public and private employers to build capacity within their training organizations to enable them to tap into the high-value disabled employee base that has been previously ignored.  Job Title : Vice President - Policy  Reporting to : President & CEO, Wadhwani Foundation   Location : New Delhi, India  The Vice President - Research & Policy will be heading the Foundation's Policy Research Centre which is playing a key role in developing a shared vision and a policy framework for India- U.S economic acceleration through high quality research for evidence based policy making & advocacy.   Main Duties and Responsibilities:  - Lead and guide the Foundation's policy agenda that would propel the Wadhwani Foundation's Policy Initiative in India to a leadership position in terms of policy development, assessment, influence and impact through policy actions in chosen areas.   - Conduct independent research, draft position papers, evangelize and influence policy decisions that not only accelerate Job Creation through Entrepreneurship and Innovation, facilitate Skill development, but also impact other key areas identified in the Policy Framework document of the Wadhwani Chairs in India and the US.  - Work collaboratively with WF's US team to maximize the cross-border impact of policy ideas and decisions.  - Build strategic partnerships, maintain key relationships with public authorities in India and build a vibrant ecosystem that would deliver on WF's mission of a key facilitator on policy ideas and implementation.  - Maintain a culture of inclusion, openness and innovation.  - Ensure that the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.  - Build a world-class program to deliver compelling and sustainable competitive advantages that elevate WF's brand equity.   Qualifications :  - The candidate must have a post graduate degree from a reputed institute with 20 years of work experience in research & public policy  Experience/Competencies :  Recognized leader as a Policy Researcher and Influencer with strong emphasis on economic development through employment/employability preferably.   - Track record on policy development leading to action with strong analytical skills & strategic thinking  - Broad network with think-tanks, government leadership and industry organizations along with strong reputation in Policy and Govt. circles.(Central and State Governments in India.).  - Experience with and inclination to be hands-on on research, policy drafts and rollout with 20 years of experience in this field.  - Excellent writer, presenter and communicator  - Sound stakeholder relationship management skills, with demonstrated ability to handle complex issues in a diplomatic manner   - Demonstrated leadership skills, team and collaboration focused.  - Ability to achieve results in timely manner.
