VICE PRESIDENT - LEGAL  (Outsourcing and Offshoring Business)  - We have been retained by our client, a reputed Multinational Solutions Company (Outsourcing and Offshoring Business), to identify a Vice President - Legal for their operations at Mumbai.  - Candidates should have a degree in Law with between 7 to 8 years of experience.  Job Purpose:  - Raise awareness of, and address legal risks and issues by providing the business specific legal training.  - Provide legal advice and transactional support to the business and be responsible for driving the business forward.   - Implement at country level the vision, strategy and direction.  - Promote active cooperation between the business legal teams to encourage a collegiate working environment across the businesses.  - Provide updates on any relevant changes in applicable laws and regulations on a timely basis.  - Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on request as well as pro-actively.   - Raise for discussion/action any points of concern/improvement.  - Work effectively and proactively with other support function teams to manage all country legal risks  - Provide training for staff on an on-going basis, particularly on any relevant changes in laws and regulations.  - Promote, lead and manage the culture and practice of Compliance and ethics to ensure the conduct of business is within legal, regulatory requirements and ethical standards consistent with supporting Group?s strategic direction and growth aspirations.   - Liaison with law firms and with regulatory authorities.  - Handling litigations/ legal suits/ cases/ complaints filed by or against the Company.  - Ensure that external legal engagements are coordinated and effective and provide support for panel arrangements when required.  - Drive the development and maintenance of good relationships with internal and external business stakeholders at appropriate levels ensuring an open and cooperative environment.  - Provide legal advice, briefings, recommendations and reports on material legal risks and issues to business, country and functional stakeholders.  - Contribute to Team Legal?s risk governance through providing country perspective on legal risk policies and procedures and ensuring consistency in the Country?s approach to legal risk management.   - Standardize and develop credit documentation.  Specific Technical Exposure:  - Draft, negotiate and execute legal agreements including technology and non-technology related contracts (e.g. outsourcing, offshore application development, hardware purchases and maintenance, software licensing, human resources, general procurement etc.).  - Advise and support the Company in relation to reviewing, negotiation and execution of third party agreements entered into by relevant legal entities within India and inter-entity Service Level Agreements.  - Advise on all legal aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Company including specific advice on labor/employment law issues, Software Technology of Parks India Regulations, Department of Telecommunications Regulations, visas and work permits for expatriates and property/contract laws.  - Supervise and manage local litigation and pre-litigation disputes as appropriate.   Desired skills:  - Good judgment enabling the provision of sound advice in difficult areas of law, regulation and practice and the proactive management of legal risk.  - Must possess strong team player qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.  - Sound judgment on business practices, and reputational risk.  - Personal authority and integrity with proven ability to establish relationships and exert influence at the country level.   - Independence, robustness ethics and resilience.  Compensation will be attractive.   Interested candidates meeting with the above requirement should apply here.
