About the Client:

The client is a Three Export House with a 10,000 Cr. turnover, its vertically integrated business model spans from procurement of raw materials to the design, manufacture, distribution, and after-sales service of diamond-studded jewellery. From rough to retail, the Client has successfully established a significant global presence in the diamond and jewellery industry. Their specialties are in diamond dealing, diamond cutting and polishing, jewellery designing and manufacturing and luxury retail.

Position Title : VP - HR

Job Location : Mumbai

Reporting To : President Human Resources

Experience: 13 Years to 20 Years

HR Strategy : Work with the HR Team to develop and implement the agenda for HR Plan. Ensure HR plans support the needs of the business but are also flexible enough to cope with changes in the organisation as and when they occur. Engage with Management to ensure understanding/impact on the broader business

Employee Relations : Work with the HR team to manage all absences, including long and short term sickness absence disciplinary processes, grievances. Measure employee satisfaction and identify areas that require improvement

Talent Management : Support key talent development training plans; identify areas that need attention and improvement and work with the management to create succession plans

Employee Engagement : Provide sound judgment in employee relation matters; create employee engagement processes, measure employee satisfaction and identify areas that require improvement. Share with the Management and where possible link in to broader employee engagement and employee satisfaction actions across the organisation

Performance management : Work with the HR team to ensure all staff receive appraisals in accordance with company policy and monitor probationary periods and work with leaders to deliver annual performance appraisals, performance development plans and performance improvement plans and support managers on performance management issues and processes where needed

Recruitment : Work with the Recruitment Team to manage the recruitment strategy for the organisation; work in partnership with the senior management team to attract key talent.

HR Policies & Procedures : Work in liaison with the Management and the HR Team to formulate robust policies & procedures. Creates, develops, implements, and evaluates all Human Resource programs and supporting systems to insure an integrated approach to all Human Resource systems, practices, policies, and procedures

Desired Skills and Experience :

- Previous Experience in Team Handling

- Previously influenced senior managers, built strong commercial relationships and driven an HR strategy. Advanced communication skills including written and spoken English

- Able to quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships with department managers. Demonstrable maturity, professionalism and gravitas

- Able to inspire confidence of the senior management team through timely delivery of information and plans. Works independently but consults where appropriate

- Act as a role model for the organisation looks beyond own team as a role model and source of knowledge. Works with others in a collaborative and solutions focused manner to achieve win-win outcomes

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

- Demonstrated business acumen: aware of bottom line impact of initiatives; able to prioritise on basis of cost and financial trade-offs

- Advanced communication skills such that they are able to deal with senior leaders independently

- Detail oriented, logical and methodological approach to problem solving

- Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions ability to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented

- Demonstrate an understanding of personalities and behavioural styles in order to work collaboratively with a variety of people and to make informed decision around resourcing, reporting structures and relationships

- Excellent Microsoft Office skills in particular Intermediate/Advanced Excel
