Category Manager:

Urban Ladder is a tight-knit start-up that's been at the forefront of driving furniture e-commerce in India. In this space, striving to source best-in-class products and manage the entire category has been both our biggest differentiator and one of our biggest challenges. We're now looking for passionate, highly driven individuals to join our team and lead assigned categories for us.

Role

- Act as the P&L owner for the category and be responsible for key metrics including Revenue, Margins, Inventory, New Product Introductions

- Range Planning: Mix of research, active consumer feedback, competition analysis resulting in a plan for the category including materials, use-cases, price points, no of products, use-cases

- Product Design and Selection: Working with vendors and in-house design team to come up with continuous product introductions in the category. Working with vendors and in-house domain specialist teams to bring this to reality

- Vendor Identification and Development: Working with various ecosystems, manufacturers, materials, negotiating rates, approving prototypes

- Supply Chain Configuration: Plan a Supply Chain that optimizes SLAs, margins and bandwidth

- Product Positioning: Drive product positioning dialogue in the company based on Market Analysis and Consumer insights

- Product Launch Coordination: Engage with functions such as Marketing, Customer-Service, Engineering, Operations and Finance to coordinate a flawless product launch

- Constant Product availability: Identify hit products, ensure strong inventory planning based on constraints, ensure constant availability with a tight check on inventory

- Interventions to boost category revenues: Keep a tab on data-trends to identify blips; come-up with timely interventions to give a revenue-boost

We are looking for someone:

- with extremely high level of ownership, drive and initiative supported by prior track record

- with a 2-3 years of work experience in a role with P&L responsibility in sales and marketing or operations (premier consulting companies, start-ups)

- with Educational background - should be from premier institute IIT/IIM
