Primary Responsibilities :

- Develop, perform and manage the analyses of business and financial metrics as well as performance measures

- Develop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget

- Understand and incorporate industry specific metrics into reports to highlight relevant trends and support fact-based business decisions

- Develop, perform and manage all aspects of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting

- Work closely with the business to develop, recommend and establish strategies, plans, and processes to improve profitability and cost efficiencies

- Produce clear, well-formatted reports that communicate a clear, compelling message for their stakeholders

- For this Senior Claims Reporting Analyst role within Regulatory Accounting and Reporting, you will be responsible for being a subject matter expert in the claims reporting and premium deficiency reserve processes.

- It requires independently researching complex accounting and reporting issues and completing ad hoc projects.

- This position reports to the Regulatory Claims Reporting manager.

Primary Responsibilities :

- Review quarterly regulatory claim schedules and supplements for assigned legal entities (Part 2 and related files). Support actuarial certification of the schedules annually.

- Prepare exhibits and supporting documentation as required by team staffing and workload

Prepare and analyze or review premium deficiency reserve evaluation models for assigned legal entities

- Work directly with actuary, legal entity management and other stakeholders to determine appropriate assumptions and results

- Independently research, analyze and troubleshoot complex claims reporting schedules and source accounting issues, ad-hoc requests, and other reporting outputs; make use of NAIC, SSAP and other relevant and recognized guidance, propose solutions and communicate with stakeholders

- Support the relationship analytic process and other department initiatives Independently prepare and manage project plans, monitor milestone progress and due dates

- Communicate project status, including obstacles to stakeholder staff, reporting leadership and the Regulatory Controller Prepare, review and maintain relevant documentation

- Drive items to completion

- Complete ad-hoc reporting and provide technical expertise to claims, actuarial and other regulatory staff

- Block and tackle issues and obstacles for less experienced staff with a mentorship and coaching focus

- Develop and provide training and formal presentations to business partners and customers function as recognized expert

- Coach and train staff, as needed

- The ideal candidate will bring to the position strong upward communication, attention to detail, and the ability to organize and balance multiple work streams and individuals.

- This candidate will also be able to provide clear and concise direction to others, implement consistent approaches and apply professional skepticism.

Required Qualifications :

- CA with 7 to 8 years of relevant accounting, reporting and/or analysis experience 2+ years relevant project or initiative coordination experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to utilize pivot tables and other functionality to identify, resolve and communicate issues

- Advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive detailed data

- Demonstrated ability to work independently to drive projects to completion, anticipating and managing through interdependencies and obstacles while adhering to deadlines

- Proven ability to research and solve complex and ambiguous accounting and reporting issues with limited guidance by researching requirements, seeking stakeholder input and independently crafting solution options

Preferred Experience :

- US health care industry experience

- Experience operating in a dynamic team environment, including working group or project group experience

Qualification :

- 5+ years of financial and operational management experience. Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience

- Financial acumen and P&L management skills Proven experience driving business performance in a high growth environment

- Prior work experience anticipating accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and operational issues, assessing their implications, and developing and implementing an appropriate action plan.

- Work collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment to drive revenue enhancement and expense management initiatives.
