Job Title : Capability Manager  Function / Sub-Function : ISD / Infrastructure Solutions  Main purpose of job :  - Business Partner with the appropriate Core Technology Director(s) and work with their Foundation and Engineering teams to bring the new vendor technical capabilities into production.  - Detail the requirements for new technical capabilities based on business demand identified by the Portfolio Architect(s). Work with the Core Technology and Platform teams to bring the new technical capabilities into production to meet the business need.  - Ensure technology governance is applied across the Core Technology and Platform teams.  - Act as SME for the Core Technologies in one or more technology components.  - Develop the Solution Building Blocks and Solution Design Principles aligned with the overall Solution Architecture & Roadmaps.  - Maintain and facilitate relationships with technology vendors & service providers to align solution standards & design with industry & technology best practices.  Key accountabilities :  - Capability Managers develop and embed the Solutions emerging from the Enterprise Architecture team and Portfolio Architects into the Core Technology Engineering teams.   The Capability Manager is accountable for :  - Identifying & developing the capability requirements with the relevant Engineering Teams  - Develop the capabilities Solution Design Principles (SDP) and Solution Building Blocks (SBB)  - Ensure solution effectiveness (TCO via Procurement) into Solution Design Principles and Solution Building Blocks  - Maintain the contents of Infrastructure Platform Catalogue   - Deliver required subject matter expertise (SME) to Solution Design and Engineering (as required)  - Review vendor innovation to develop and publish technology roadmaps  - Work delivery of 1 -3 Capability Analysts  SBB's and SDP's are used by Solution Design teams to :  - Create Low Level Designs for landing services.  - Validate & review solution proposed by Vendors/Partners/Manager Service Provider as part of ongoing demands.  Experience and qualifications required :  Essential :  - Experience of Solution Architecture design processes within assigned area of expertise Minimum 5 years- experience (2 years at a senior level) within assigned area of expertise  - Experience of working as part of a regional/global/virtual team  - Experience of gathering complex business requirements and balancing them across the enterprise  - Relevant Industry certifications/standards for delivery methodology, e.g. TOGAF, ITIL, etc.  - Line management experience  Desirable :  - Complex business case development  - Project management experience working on medium-large scale and/or complex projects  - Experience of operating services, ideally within assigned area of expertise  Key interfaces :  - Core Technology Director(s)  - Foundation Core Technology(s)  - Engineering Core Technology(s)  - Portfolio Architects  - Enterprise Architects (Infrastructure)  - Capability Managers & Analysts   - Application Platform Subject Matter Experts  - Solution Design team   - Information Security SpecialistsWelcome1  - Procurement  - Vendor Architects
