Principle Responsibilities:
- Evaluate mortgage loan requests in order to approve or deny applications
- To check income, credit history, debt ratios and savings meets the particular loan/client guidelines
- Review documentation for compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines
- Thorough knowledge of current US underwriting guidelines, federal and state laws
- Review appraisal report to make sure it is accurate and thorough, so that the home is truly worth the purchase price
- Analyze the loan documents and credit risk, borrower and property information
- Analyze employment profile, credit strength, property characteristics
- Verify accuracy of supporting employment, down payment, appraisal, and financial documentation received
- Calculate various ratios (LTV/DTI/CLTV/Payment shock) while reviewing the loan file
- Performing a full analysis of the loan file and making appropriate recommendations/conditions regarding deficiencies identified during the loan review process
