- The person should be an expert on product quality and should have a good understanding of all commodities and product specifications  - Should be able to understand consumers and communities and their requirements clearly and should be able to establish a range that caters to diverse customer needs  - Should have exposure and understanding of the sourcing locations, crop harvesting seasons, able to establish relationship with farmers, APMC market, etc  - Should have an exposure to importing products and be familiar with import laws, pricing, quality specifications, import market dynamics, etc.  - Should be an expert on pricing and should have a keen eye on pricing trends for commodities and able to forecast pricing trends, knowledge of hedging would be an added benefit  - Should be a great negotiator and should be able to have an eye for spot buying opportunities.
