Job Description

Designation: Trader Support- Risk Assistant

Reporting to: Group Head of Risk

Responsible for: Trader Support Role at Group Level whilst assisting the Group Head of Risk

Location: Mumbai, India

Purpose of Job:

Our client is planning an aggressive expansion with the creation of numerous new offices in various locations. The Trader support – Risk Assistant role will be tasked with ensuring the trading needs of traders are met and helping to assist supervising the overall group trading position, as well as monitoring the positions of various global offices and individual traders. S/he will report to the Group Head of Risk.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Ensure trading needs of traders within the group are met

- Set limits for traders based on Risk Management guidelines

- Risk Management – work with our Risk Management software to pre-empt and monitor Group risk exposure.

- Monitor closely the trading activity of traders / offices where specific risks have been identified.

- Ensure Risk Management procedures are strictly followed by all Operations Managers and Traders

- Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with Operations Managers, Traders, Trader Support, Software Developers, Exchanges and Clearer.

- Assist in Trader Support duties as required.

- Actively participate in and chair relevant meetings.

- Ensure all communications reflect company's core values

Key Performance Indicators:

- Pre-emptive alerting when Risk procedures are violated.

- Ensure that trading rules are respected.

- Assist in Office Opening / Closing procedures as required.

- Excellent relationships with key partners.

Person Specification/Qualifications:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification

- Strong knowledge of the Financial Markets

- Excellent IT skills including, but not limited, to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc) and Internet research

- Trader Support Experience preferred but not compulsory

Skills & Experience:

- Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders in person, in writing and by telephone.

- Ability to influence, negotiate and represent the organisation at all levels.

- Presentation, report writing and public speaking skills.

- Good all-rounder with the ability and motivation to manage mundane as well as high-level challenges.

- Self Driven with the ability to manage own time and personal administration in an effective way.

- Ambitious, lateral, creative thinker.

- Desire to be part of a committed team.

- Ability to master and represent our Client's Vision and Values.

- A sense of humour would always be appreciated
