About TOI Metro Supplements (TIMS):

- The Times of India (TOI) launched the sassy Bombay Times in 1994 as a supplement to the main paper. Till date, 47 supplements of Times of India Metro Supplements (TIMS) have been launched across multiple cities that address the city-specific news and cover varied youth interests across Entertainment and Lifestyle viz. Bollywood, television, campus, nightlife, technology, fashion, music, hangouts, fitness, relationship etc.

- Presently, a 1200+ Cr business and a market leader across most markets, TIMS has been continuously re-thinking its product in terms of strategic focus, presentation and coverage. The brand has also launched several profitable IPs like Times Fresh Face and has a deeper connect with the city life, colleges and youth pan India.

About Corporate Brand function :

The Brand team is the key driver of the business in TIMS. The team helps conceptualize, monitor and manage the business roadmap for TIMS.

This team has four distinct functions or KRAs to help to maximise Revenue, build strong Brand affinity and create Profitable growth :

- Business Strategy

- Product Development

- Conceptualise IPs

- Brand management

About the Position:

Reports to: General Manager, TIMS

Role: The role is critical to develop a strong brand and profitable business for TIMS across India. The role will need interactions across multiple stakeholders - internal teams and external partners - to deliver on the KRAs. The person should be able to manage multiple projects with a diverse set of execution agencies.

KRAs :

Execute Brand IPs :

- Responsible for the brand extension into monetizable IPs - medium to large formats.

- Conceptualise and develop IP formats and concept presentations

- Work closely with event management agencies to conceptualise and execute brand activities.

- Monitor execution of assigned projects and ensure prompt delivery in relation to overall marketing schedule

Product Development :

- Identify growth opportunities in relation to new products based on market environment, company business priorities and sound consumer insights.

- Monitor competitive activities, brand health and brand share. Propose action to defend against competitive initiatives.

- Act as a business manager for the assigned markets and identify opportunities to improve business performance on parameters like profitability and revenues

Brand Management :

- Assist the manager in developing brand communication with advertising agencies on assigned projects within assigned areas.

- Drive the digital / social mandate of the brand to drive salience with the audience

- Develop campaigns and lead the media deployment of the same

- Monitor city by city brand activities and develop city level marketing campaigns and partnerships as needed

- Work closely with media agencies, radio and outdoor partners to generate brand buzz and visibility

Editorial Coordination :

- Work closely with the editorial team to ensure that our product champions the brand values

Ideal Candidate :

MBA or equivalent and have progressive experience of 4-6 years marketing and brand functions. Specifically, the person should have:

- Excellent execution ability across large events - managing working with multiple agencies

- Considerable knowledge of managing medium to large format IPs

- Ability for creative ideation on properties and brand initiatives

- High level of process orientation with a focus on deadlines

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- A sound knowledge of new media - digital and social media strategy -and partnerships

- Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams

- Ability and willingness to challenge the status quo to deliver long-term change and improvements

- Aptitude to work with unstructured project briefs
