We are currently looking for a candidate who has about 1-3 years in a financial research ( Sell Side / Buy side / Macro Research ) covering the Equity market. This role is part of the Investment Research division of a global Investment Bank, this team specifically provides bottom-up research into investment strategies by combining stock, thematic and macroeconomic analysis.   Since foundation, this particular group has developed a suite of investment styles leveraging the unique internal database and quantitative models such as the Buy-out model, Profiling Scores and CROCI methodology. Combining these tools with views from bottom-up analysts, the Investment Review Committee and also macroeconomics, the team advocates selected screens, thematic ideas and stocks.   The role of the research analyst is to act as a support to regional teams and Directors of Research (Americas, London, AEJ and Japan) with the focus of compiling, summarizing, and analyzing market based data for the purpose of publishing thematic or quantitative research. The idea is to focus on the repeatable quantitative tasks initially as well as developing more value added proprietary products for the team over time (i.e. move up the value chain as earned).   Job Responsibilities:  Provide support to Regional teams and Directors of Research. The role would involve:   Combining the macro and the micro: analyzing fundamental datasets of the global equity market in the context of the broader macro picture, in order to form a market and thematic view.   Analyzing and presenting this analysis in our published departmental research reports. These reports are quantitative and thematic in nature.   Building and testing models to evaluate quantitative investment strategies, including statistical analysis of economic data and company fundamentals.   Managing and structuring financial data in a presentable form. This involves maintaining large, and often complex, data sets.  Maintain and develop infrastructure and run analyses that helps in managing the investment review process.   Responding to regular and ad hoc data/analysis requests from external and internal clients (sales and trading, other research teams).  Provide guidance to, and coordinate with global analyst teams for:Technical questions on modeling and accounting concepts.   Basic Qualifications:  Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting, engineering or related field qualification   Minimum 1 year of experience in financial services   Strong communication and interpersonal skills   Sound knowledge of concepts in Financial management and Accounting  Interest in investments and the associated research processes  Excellent Excel skills; experience of programming beneficial (ideally in VBA)  Preferred Qualifications:  Candidate must be proactive, enthusiastic and team oriented - Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment - Accuracy and attention to detail - Knowledge of a financial data repository (like FactSet, Bloomberg or Datastream) would be an added advantage
