Technical Project Manager

Description :

Position Purpose:

- Responsible for management of technology projects within Tech Project Management Practice.

- 5-6 yrs of project management experience managing high complexity projects or project streams following Project Management Life Cycle.

- Project Management Certifications ( PMP, PRINCE 2) will be an advantage

Accountabilities :

Financial

- Ensures that the project is completed within the approved budget. This covers resource planning, cost estimating, cost budgeting and cost control

Customer

- Reinforces the importance of being customer focused; encourages a culture which values both internal and external project customers; monitors and acts on feedback from customers. Focuses on delivering solutions that meet the needs of customers

Process

- Ensures that the various elements of the project are properly co-ordinated. Includes project plan development, project plan execution and integrated change control

People

- The willingness to take responsibility for meeting the needs of the team, keeping staff informed and up-to-date, and ensuring clarity around individual roles and expectations. Also, encouraging input and being committed to achieving overall objectives. It is also about ensuring that where there is failure to comply with the required standards and guidelines that appropriate action is identified and implemented

Risk / Compliance / Behaviours :

Identifying, analysing and responding to project risks and issues. It consists of risk/issue management planning, risk/issue identification, qualitative risk/issue analysis, quantitative risk/issue analysis, risk/issue response planning and risk/issue monitoring and control

Essential skills and experience :

- Establish a baseline for multiple dependent high complexity projects, allowing the accurate measurement of the effectiveness of scheduling, and of the impact of changes in scope including dependency management throughout the lifecycle of the project

- Performed estimation activities on multiple dependent high complexity projects resulting in a high level plan, which was subsequently proven to be accurate

- Has executed forward planning for the resources and thus managed their allocations and provide agreed notifications to the resource managers

- Manage communication of updates and change requests with the stakeholders including justification on approvals and rejection of change requests, impact to budget and timelines for high complexity projects

- Influence stakeholders in the prioritisation of change requests, by elaborating on the consequences of changing scope, resulting in an understanding of the importance of each request and a mutual understanding of the likely impact to the project from the resultant change in scope.

- Knows and understands principles and methods of managing a project team

- Effectively collaborate with the resources to understand any challenges and bottlenecks, and resolve conflicts constructively.

- Has an in-depth understanding of SDLC and be able to produce artefacts of the highest quality for high complexity projects.

- Experience in applying the concepts of quality management while delivering high complexity projects. This includes adhering to testing processes and producing artefacts mandated through SDLC .

- Knows and understands the principles and mechanisms (tools, standards and processes) of effectively managing project value.

- Applied project scheduling principles, processes and techniques for high complexity projects with the result that the actual time to deliver expected outcomes was within an acceptable tolerance of the initial project schedule.

- Manage budget for scope of project deliverables managed by resource across multiple teams and working in different geographies

- Identify, manage, apply appropriate process, mitigate and resolution of risk and issues of High and Extreme Impact

- Be prepared to take the initiative; An ideal candidate has a track record where the PM consistently delivers results and ensures key objectives are met.

- Experience in one of Retail Banking, Payments, Markets, Institutional Banking domains.
