Technical Architect - A Series B mCommerce Startup in Agri Solutions - IIT/NIT/BITS

As an Architect, you will :

- Interact with Product manager and Business owners to define key components of the overall platform.

- Build a robust and scalable platform that will enable a large volume of transactions and events to be processed

- Play a pivotal role in choosing the right technology to build these solution components

- Play the role of a technology leader for a high performing team

Responsibilities :

- Assisting directly and indirectly in building a high performing tech team

- Responsible for Technology Operations

- Create a highly optimized, performance driven, scalable and sustaining Open Source/ LAMP platform.

- Managing Android app development and a responsive design compliant version of the site

- Driving definition and continuous integration for releases by working closely with the engineering and other stakeholders such as business and marketing teams

- Scaling the existing platform to support millions of user traffic and thousands of transactions per day

- Integration and maintenance of various 3rd party systems

- Building a culture of strong commitment, innovation within the technology team

- Providing a better user experience.

- Define a long -term road map to transition technology from Open Source platform to an alternative platform (build vs. buy) to meet the scalability and availability requirements

- Constantly investigate emerging technologies and techniques, research ongoing industry trends, make appropriate recommendations to the management for enhancements

- Work closely with Business Leads, Engineering Leader and marketing team to ensure business and customer satisfaction goals are met.

- The leader needs to balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices.

- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science from Top Tier institutes such as IITs, NITs, BITS, etc.

- 8+ years of Software Development experience and 4 years in a technology leadership role preferably in a consumer internet company

- Proven track record of building large-scale, highly available, low latency, high quality distributed systems and software products

- Prior hands-on experience in building and scaling a LAMP based eCommerce platform is desired but not mandatory

- Strong development experience on the following technologies is required: -

- LAMP stack - Strong MySQL knowledge is required, strong PHP experience is desired

- HTML, CSS, Java Script, jQuery and front end frameworks such as Angular.js, ember.js, etc

- Knowledge of NGNIX/Apache server internals and configuration is desired

- Experience with cloud platform such as AWS is required (EC2, S3, CDN and Load balancers (ELB)) is required.

- Software development experience in Java, Python, PHP, Scala, etc

- Web-sockets

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
