TAS Compensation Finance Analyst  Business Unit Overview:  Time Inc., is one of the world’s biggest and most exciting media companies. This position is a unique opportunity to be part of Time Inc.’s Compensation Finance offshore support function.  Time Inc.’s Compensation Finance is a centralized function supporting the various operational business units with on-boarding new employees, processing payroll changes, analyzing and reporting compensation expenses.  Job Description:  - This individual will be responsible for partnering with the New York based process owners, providing effective leadership for a team of associate analysts, and assisting with developing and growing the India Finance operation.  - This position will focus on providing superior support for all the stakeholder’s needs, analyzing and reporting compensation and headcount data, various financial close activities such as calculating and recording accruals or identifying/processing reclassification journal entries, and assisting with the development of the operational growth in India.   - The position requires a customer service focus, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and professional maturity.  - Candidates applying for the position must be self-motivated with a strong "hands-on" background in Financial Planning & Analysis, and Management Accounting and Reporting preferably in a media company (though not a must).   - Excellent planning, time management, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills are required.  Behavioral Attributes and Skill Requirements  Charts the Course:  - Client-relationship focus, providing value added partnering for end-to-end solutions that translates strategy into actionable objectives and plans.   - Communicates clearly at one-on-one and group levels. Shows people and teams how to reach (acts as a coach).  Other additional requirements:  - BCOM with requisite specialization in Finance or Commerce required;  - Minimum of 2-3 years experience in Compensation, reporting and financial analysis;  - Handling US Payroll  - Processing Payroll activities in PeopleSoft (Leaves, Salary Change, Termination etc)  - Preferably from a media industry background  - Decision making - logic & Judgmental call related to compensation  - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel);  - Detail-oriented;  - Strong team player with equally strong customer service skills;  - Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines;  - Excellent problem solving skills;  - Able to communicate with various levels of management and staff;  - Ability to create a sense of team cohesiveness and commitment to achieving goals.   Added Advantage: Systems Knowledge  - PeopleSoft Financials and/or COGNOS Business Intelligence system
