About this Job:

Role Purpose

- Execute the Crop Strategy for the assigned crop and country

- Collaborate internally and externally to drive the Integrated Crop Solution strategy across the country

Accountabilities :

- Support the creation of mid to long term Crop strategy

- Execute country crop strategy through long term and medium term plans

- Enable the creation of ICS Protocol by understanding and internally communicating grower pain points to appropriate stakeholders

- Influence the grower towards purchasing the Crop Solution by ensuring the right product positioning

- Co-create and monitor the marketing campaign, including Pricing, Positioning and Expansion Plan for the Crop Solution

- Create long term market forecasts for the crop and validate short term forcasts

- Build solution demonstration capability through Syngenta Learning Centers across regions

- Identify opportunities for portfolio development and expansion by analyzing current gaps

- Manage collaborations with universities and agri research centers for endorsing the crop solution

- Manage the pilot and rollout of the crop solution across regions

- Achieve annual business volume targets

- Manage new brand launches from design to implementation

- Gather market intelligence on competitor products and their capabilities

- Coach the sales team on the appropriate message to be conveyed to the grower for a given Crop Solution

Key Deliverables :

- Achieve Crop business delivery targets

- Drive Crop portfolio business development and strategy in the country

- Ensure successful new launches for the assigned crop

- Drive Integrated Crop Strategy for the assigned crop

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

Critical knowledge :

- Sound understanding of grower buying patterns and behaviours, and the key factors influencing the same

- Sound understanding of factors like rural infrastructure, seasonal income, social structures and daily routine in rural life, and their impact on the business dynamics

- Detailed knowledge and understanding of seeds market, segments, their key drivers and traits and product fitment

- Knowledge of brand management and promotion strategies that enhance the perceived value of the products / Crop Solutions; knowledge of new brand introduction, packaging, labelling, value based pricing etc.

- Insight about the existing market and its potential, competitor strengths and weakness, relevant market trends

- Awareness about the Government Agricultural policies pertaining to the given region / product, and its impact on the business

- Keen awareness of the major cost drivers of the organisation as a whole, the major cost parameters, and the cost related impact of the decisions taken

Critical experience :

- Experience in marketing and business development for a product applicable to the agriculture / rural market

- Experience in working with multiple internal and external stakeholders

- Experienced trainer / coach

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

- Ability apply the rural awareness to drive business in the country.

- Ability to apply marketing concepts like product positioning and market segmentation to the agriculture market in order to establish the desired product image

- Ability to exploit opportunities to collaborate and help others in the interest of developing and motivating people and functions; foster and build relationships; assisst colleagues to adapt to change and encourage innovation and initiative where appropriate

- Ability to present a balanced view of the customer ecosystem by understanding their underlying problems and the reasons for ongoing challenges

- Ability to present a complex technical concept simply to the audience by the use of analogies, diagrams, visuals, videos, animation etc.

- Capable of effectively scheduling and organising the work elements of a project, to the extent of anticipating obstacles and thinking ahead about next steps

- Ability to link people, ideas, amd information throughout the project life cycle

- Ability to identify and articulate value proposition appropriate to each level of contact in order to influence without authority

- Capable of solving complex problems using analytical thinking, including data collection, analysis, establishing logical trends, relationships and deductions, and identifying a solution for resolving the problem

- Capable of visualizing concepts by taking a holistic, abstract or theorotical perspective using common sense, past experiences to identify problems or situations

- Ability to effectively cope with change, handle risk and uncertainty comfortably; decide / act without having the total picture

- Ability to maintain a positive attitude when faced with setbacks, recover quickly from dissapointments
