Strategic Operations Head - Manufacturing (2-8 yrs)
Designation: Strategic Operations Head
Job Description:
The role involves aligning the existing business operations into a SBU model and manage end-to-end operations
It requires assisting & empowering individual departments to achieve periodic targets and advancement of process excellence across all the functions.
As a part of the same, responsibility encompasses close coordination & management of production, planning, quality, maintenance, procurement, engineering, SCM, HR, etc

Overall Position Scope:
- Reporting to Director, Operations & Commercial
- 1st year as Technical Assistant to Director & Process Excellence Head
- An opportunity to graduate to Business Unit head within 2 years
- Platform to work in a manufacturing setup as a steward of a 4 year old 50 crore+ turnover company, growing annually at 30-50% YOY
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop and implement a strategy to operationalize production management techniques to respective departments, so as to meet agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets and schedules.
- Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development.
- Develop and achieve Annual & Monthly process excellence plan so as to increase productivity and bring about operational efficiency
- Spearhead any New Product / Process Development initiative and support in corresponding machinery procurement or process development/ modification
- Drive and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
- Responsible for maintaining employee morale and safety by creating an efficient and safe working environment.
- Identify, initiate & execute technical projects, programs and plans which lead to improved processes and products, reduced costs and increased output.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering in selection of machinery and equipment for new orders and in ROI analysis.
- Effective Manpower planning & utilization in partnership with Human Resources Department.
- Track & Meet P&L targets on periodic basis
Note: The role & responsibility will vary from primary / secondary during initial years. Upon graduating to Business Unit Head position, above mentioned responsibility will form part of primary responsibility

- Inquisitive nature to acquire knowledge, data and experience, related to processes, quality systems, process advancements, etc to exceed in desired role
- Ability & Commitment to learn and lead an organization of 80+ people
- Strong Problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
- Should display strong aptitude for managing an organization of 80+ people and Rs 50+ crore turnover as SBU head
- Experience or knowledge of managing manufacturing cells like fabrication, welding, galvanizing, roll forming, machining, sheet metal parts, tooling, forging etc.
Indicative Years of Experience :
- 2-8 Years of experience
- Freshers can be considered in exceptional cases
- Having experience/ knowledge or exposure to manufacturing will be preferable
Educational Background:
- Graduation in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Production/ Operations Engineering from strictly top 25 institutes
And/ Or
- Post-graduation or PG Diploma in manufacturing engineering / design and development from strictly top 25 institutes
Remuneration & Location:
- Salary - CTC package of Rs 5-8 lacs P.A, depending upon relevant experience, aptitude and attitude
- Location: Primarily at works, which is 80 kms from Mumbai on Mumbai - Ahmedabad highway; Frequent visits to HO in Mumbai
