Strategic Business Planning Manager

Job Summary

- Business Planning & Research is to enable Company to sustain/enhance business and financial performance by aligning company's strategy, business unit plans, and external research to develop a cohesive Mid Term Business Plan and other related company level deliverables.

- This position requires an analytical mindset, strong presentation skills, independent judgment, cross-organizational leadership, and project management discipline.

- Key stakeholders of deliverables produced under the direction of the reporting manager and, Company Management Committee.

- This role will be responsible for developing Management and other senior executive level presentations, including conceptual framework, messaging, and content for Strategy Review.

- This position also requires partnering closely with Finance Managers and Senior Management to produce comprehensive analysis and research of auto industry trends, economic trends, and competitive landscape, and presenting this information in context of how it impacts Company current and future strategic actions.

Strategic Context and Challenges

- Process owner and an individual contributor for a business strategy plan.

- Contrived the business plan for the region specific strategies.

- Ideate in detail - Go to Market- strategy and it's execution to introduce future trend driven product solutions

- Embrace a business discussion with strategic clients / stakeholders on technical and commercial aspects.

- Spearhead research projects inclusive of predictive analytics and calculus based business modelling.

- Due Diligence of competition landscape, business initiatives on future focus areas, investments, risk mitigation plans.

- Financial & Scenario Options modelling of focus sectors depicting variables with an acute business hedge options. Sustaining target profitability level.

- Drive business units towards strategic goals as per long, mid, short term business KPI's to attain operational & financial deliverables, in sync with globally envisioned strategic priorities.

- Participation within government institutions and outside consultants / agencies to align business objectives with evolving technology trends & country specific macro environment.

Deliverables

- Business Planning / Mid-Term Business Plan (MTBP) Development.

- Design and execute a project plan to annually deliver the company's Mid Term Business Plan to Company. This includes strong leadership in shaping the overall framework and strategic message using judgment to determine structure, content, and level of detail that should be included in the MTBP.

- Requires a high level of enterprise coordination, consolidation of information, and editorial judgment to create a unified company view that contains information filtered, clarified, and combined from many diverse sources and perspectives. Input is obtained from the President, Company & Management Committee.

- Strong leadership, project execution and change management skills are essential to effectively navigate and resolve organizational conflicts, differences of opinion, and information bottlenecks. Must be an experienced leader in developing vision, clarifying purpose and impact, and establishing alternative approaches to overcome organizational and process hurdles in order to meet firm milestones and deadlines.

Strategy and External Research

- Conceptualize and develop strategy recommendations that align with Company goals and strategic priorities. Actively monitor mobility/auto trends, best practices, and innovations in the automotive industries.

- Perform research and analysis in support of new or proposed company initiatives.

- Provide insight into new and emerging markets. Synthesize information and report findings from a combination of industry publications, consultant whitepapers, media sources, and professional contacts.

- Make recommendations on business implications and next steps. Challenge and influence Company leadership and business units utilizing data analysis, modeling/scenario planning and external research/ industry practice

Core Responsibilities and Activities

- Drive/Support cross-regional business initiatives, help program manage such initiatives and be the resident expert on all products.

- Works independently to construct highly complex statistical and financial models to forecast business performance; coaches others on model development.

- Establishes the metrics required to measure business performance, and develops the process for identifying and addressing performance gaps.

- Manages complex, time- sensitive market research projects and prepares synthesized intelligence reports with clear implications. (e.g., industry trends, competitor analysis)

- Leads cross-functional teams across the entire span of business planning activities.

- Contributes to priority projects by adding creative insights and developing recommendations.

- Partners with business leaders and to develop business plans and proactively identify new opportunities.

- Develops go-forward business plan recommendations based on potential risks and returns.

Other Responsibilities

- Identifies cutting-edge analytical tools, models, and methods for making key business decisions. Connect between business and product teams and help Product Managers gather and understand the nuances of market-in feedback

- Lead the Go-to-Market (GTM) efforts for new product launches

- Build out targets for the sales and delivery teams / leadership and enforce them through timely intervention.

- Liaison with the financial analysis team to manage the margins expected from the business; Identify and enforce course corrective measures to ensure revenue goals are met.

- Leads complex data and business analyses to develop business plans, and identifies recommendations and insights.

Functional Competencies

- Excellent analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills.Ability to leverage new analytical techniques to develop creative approaches to business analysis.

- Extensive knowledge and understanding of how to analyze business problems using Excel, Access, statistical analysis, and financial modeling.

- Strong communication skills in developing presentations through logical reasoning and structuring

- Extensive knowledge of research methodology for key business issues.

- Strong business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility.

- Very strong project management skills, including leading large, cross-functional initiatives.

- Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.

- Developed leadership skills, including team-building, conflict resolution, and management.

- Ability to identify emerging trends from market and industry data

Education

- Bachelor's Engineering degree and Master of Business and Management in a business-related field

Previous Experience

- Eight years of strategic planning experience in a similar environment or in a planning/consultant role.

Languages

English, Kannada, Hindi,

Other

- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization to guide in strategic planning fundamentals and plan execution.

- Analytical and problem-solving skills to plan strategy, tactics and perform root cause analysis.

- Presentation skills to create and deliver information to a wide audience.

- Familiarity with project management tools, lifecycles, etc. Proficiency using MS Office tools
