Our client offers a hyper-local app start-up that offers offline retail services. The platform enables creation of communities of users and merchants that help both parties discover each other. These merchants include restaurants, fashion, spa, beauty, yoga, sports, gym, etc. It serves as a visual referral network and a tool for customer acquisition and customer engagement apart helping the community find the local buzz of the area. Founded by ex-IIT and ex-IIM graduates with extensive experience in top tier consulting firms, start-ups and marquee VC firms, the company has raised 3 million dollars in the first round of funding and is growing at an impressive rate. It aims at the 500 billion dollar Indian local retail market. It is re-imagining how local retail should happen in the mobile first world we all live in. In just 12 months they have acquired over 5 lakh customers, expanded in 4 cities and covered more than 50,000 merchants.

As the Strategic Alliance Manager, you will be primarily responsible for entering into strategic tie-ups with retail brands and ensuring their success on the mobile platform and also providing leads and sales enablement services to them. The other key responsibilities will include:

- Responsible for developing and executing the strategic alliances with leading retail outlets

- Identify partnership opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in industry

- Prospect relentlessly to build pipeline and build strong personal relationships with prospects

- Maintaining relationship with clients by providing support, information and guidance.

- Close new business consistently at or above quota level

- Develop and execute a strategic partnership plan and document and distribute competitive information

- Listen to the needs of the market and share insights with product and marketing teams

- Manage key accounts and up selling and cross selling to clients

- Be proactive about solving problems even if it's outside of your area and be ready to take on additional initiatives and responsibilities as they emerge

- Manage end to end client relationship including pitching, negotiation, contracting, billing/ invoicing, and payment collection, result tracking and troubleshooting.

- Deepen relationships with clients by looking at opportunities for upselling/ cross selling etc.

- Seek out opportunities to be a leader and do everything you can to help the company achieve its larger objectives

Candidate Profile:

- 3-5 years of experience in B2B sales, account management or alliance management.

- A creative powerhouse with a proven marketing and business development background.

- A decent understanding and/or a strong interest in the Retail/ ecommerce sector, brand awareness and retail trends

- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills

- Excellent time management & negotiation skills

- A customer centric, creative and analytical problem-solving mindset
