Role Summary:
- Candidate should be able to size and price IT infrastructure required based on client requirements.
- Should be able to independently present the entire solution to clients and evolve consensus to execute.
- Should be able to implement the solution using own skills supported by team and vendors.
- The Senior Solutions Architect will work closely with Practice sales team – leading the solution for bids and during bid defence.
- He will work closely with Delivery teams during implementation.
Key Technical Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will possess more than a passing interest and considerable knowledge in most of these technologies. He should be able to speak on any of them.
- Various processor architectures: X86-64, Power, Sparc, Itanium.
- Various storage architectures: RAID controllers, SAN, JBOD, Filesystems, RAID types, SSDs, converged adapters
- Modern Server platforms and their features
- Modern tools for managing IT estates; their features and capabilities
- Various Operating systems: Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX.
- Virtualization and separation technologies: VMware, Hyper-V, .Net, Unix containers, LPARs.
- Other Technologies: Compression and deduplication (inline and offline for storage and backups, inline for web pages).
- Networking standards: Ethernet, FC, Infiniband, FCOE, iSCSI, RDMA, FR, ATM.
- Relational Databases and derived technologies: Clustering, Replication, OLTP vs OLAP, BI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solutioning : Prepare a complete IT solution in response to an RFP. Solution should include technical write-up, diagrams, BOM and prices.
- Bid Defense : Present and defend own solution prepared against RFP in Bid defense meetings with clients. Evolve IT design in response to client requirements.
- Documentation : Review, critique and improve detailed documentation for an IT solution to be implemented prepared by others in the team.
- IT Infrastructure Studies : Carry out IT infrastructure studies for clients to : Identify outsourcing opportunities; Identify Opportunities for improving efficiency of IT infrastructure and technical advancement.
- Team building : Train, motivate, communicate and engage with team and help the team learn, grow and deliver to their peak capability
