Sr. Purchase Manager

Organisation - Fortune 500 FMCG MNC

Candidate Profile

- Should have experience in FMCG purchase in commodities like sugar, wheat and other raw materials.

- Premier B-school grads preferred.

Job Profile

1. Direction Setting:

- Lead & drive translation of procurement objectives into sourcing group objectives for the category in order to ensure that sourcing group tasks & aims are articulated, understood & accepted by the team and the business.

- Understand & interpret the overall business direction & objectives and develops & aligns plans for the category to enable their achievement.

- Develop plans and systems & processes to optimize the utilisation of resources for the category in order to successfully achieve business objectives.

2. Business Planning:

- Construct & use budgets to manage & monitor spends for the category and ensure that adjustment processes are in place for over/under achievement.

- Commit and deliver savings/added value in line with department/business targets

3. Procurement Practices:

- Apply defined processes; using SGM tools & techniques and OE to develop long term strategic source plans for spend categories.

- Route all possible spend through EPass. Use reverse auctions to leverage spend.

- Identify opportunities and use a broad range of strategies in order to achieve a model of total-cost control, cost containment targets and add value to area of expenditure through a total cost orientation.

4. Systems & Processes:

- Identify, implement & continuously improve systems & processes in order to deliver greater effectiveness of service for the company & customers.

- Demonstrate & perform in accordance with sound business ethics, purchasing & supply standards, policies

- Adhere to Procurement processes and actively make use of e-procurement

5. Supplier Relationship Management

- Manage relationships and ways of working with key suppliers in order to align understanding & commitment with customer expectations

- Engage with vendor on quality to instill confidence in the supply base

- Apply the right supplier relationship spectrum viz., Leverage, Preferred, Partnership or Strategic Alliance in order to satisfy business needs.
