Job description- Sr. Project Manager-Java

Location: Delhi/NCR

Nature of Work: This is a manager position and individual is expected to be:

- Expected to work as Technical Expert/Technical manager and will be responsible for end to end technical deliveries along with the team.

- Should have expert level knowledge and experience in designing complex distributed systems for high performance, high-availability and security.

- Expected to work across multiple projects, participate in code reviews and enforce best practices and coding guidelines for junior team members

- Should be able to mentor a team to understand the various design patterns, frameworks, tools and techniques used and steering clear of common design and code mistakes.

- Responsible for delivering a high quality S/W project, meeting all required functionality, within allocated schedule and budget.

- Responsible for management of 20-40 members consisting of PL, TL and team under them.

- Involved in all Strategic Business Unit related issues.

- Able to direct the successful design, implementation and delivery of one or more projects, depending on the project size and management experience.

- Responsible for all aspects of project management and management of all resources.

- Able to coach/ mentor the junior members in the project and provide necessary support to them.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualification & Experience:

- Engineering. degree in preferably in Computer Science,IT/ MCA, MTech ( Full Time through out 1st Div.) from a good institute.

- 12-14 years experience in S/W development across a wide variety of development projects, out of which 2 yrs in project management and people management.

- PMP or PMI certification is desirable.

- Domain knowledge of BFSI/BPM/ECM/DMS is an added advantage.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of current technological trends in the S/W development industry, such as OOP’s, Multi-Tier S/W development, Component Architecture, Web Based S/W.

CANDIDATE SHOULD BE GOOD IN TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE, SOLUTION DESIGNING AND HIS 50-60% OF WORK WILL BE TECHNICAL IN NATURE AND REST WILL BE PROJECT MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES.

- Good experience on Core Java, JSP, Servlets, EJB, Oracle/SQL.

- Responsible for the end to end delivery. Ensuring that Project Delivery Metrics are controlled throughout the project lifecycle. Tracking project requirements implementation throughout different phases of the project lifecycle.

- Thorough understanding of Project Management methodologies and tools.

- Knowledge of system integration issues.

- Ability to gather and analyze data and draw logical conclusions

Managerial Skills:

- Experienced in managing both FPP and T&M projects on diverse functional domains

- Monitor, control projects schedules and progress.

- Provide/ monitor necessary resources for smooth project execution.

- Performance appraisal/ counseling of the group members.

- Evaluate training needs (technical, managerial) and get the required training programs implemented.

- Coordinate, communicate with the client on project related matters.

- Review contracts, carry out risk analysis and mitigation exercises and update the top management on the same.

- Propose group members for rewards/ recognition.

- Create a conducive environment to evolve better Quality System Processes
