Function: Quality Control   Position reports to: Unit Head   Background to the Position:  - This position will be responsible for independently handling the entire Quality Control activities of the Plant along with assisting in new product development, Research & Development. This plant is amongst the largest and most reputed plants in the edible oil sector, having all aspects like Crushing, refining , TSP , DOC , Foods & Lecithin production under the same roof.  Key Qualities and specifications to look for in the ideal incumbent:  - Result oriented, agile, must have knowledge of handling all Testing Equipment. Good subject knowledge. Can handle customer complaints efficiently.  - Candidates from Edible Oil Industry, or Candidates from Food Industry having previous experience in handling Quality Control in edible oil companies  Key Accountabilities:  - Ensure compliance with all quality Norms including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) & HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)  - Evaluate and assist in developing processes , specifications and critical control points in manufacturing for ongoing quality assurance of all finished goods  - Manage HACCP assessments and reassessment. Compose and edit HACCP plans and strategies for new products.  - Develop and maintain repository for all GMP and SOPs  - Ensure that new regulations are quickly and accurately implemented at all assigned facilities and suppliers  - Establish manufacturing specifications , standards , protocols and procedures for quality control and new product development  - Dealing with external agencies (Food/VPO/AGMARK inspector) & also R&D related activities  - Knowledgeable in statistical process control/ FMEA etc  - Providing leadership, mentorship, and direction of all QA/QC personnel.  - Process and system internal audits  - MIS preparation and circulation  Main interactions:  - Internal: Production / Packing / Marketing / Corporate QA  - External: Customers / Vendors / Govt. Tech in Oil Tech from reputed institute with 12-18 years experience (15 years experience would be bulls-eye) or M.Sc.- Chemistry / Microbiology with 18 years’ experience in similar industry.  - Candidate must have thorough knowledge of Quality Control for products such as Lecithin, TSP (Textured Soy Protein)  Demonstrated ability in handling, maintaining and upgrading the following technical instruments:  - Spectrophotometer  - Gas Chromatography  - Karl Fischer titration and coulometer  - Microbiological analysis  - Moisture Analysis
