Sr Manager/Associate Director - Legal - Media

Main Responsibilities:

- Provide expert and strategic legal advice on all the legal issues to the board & the business heads

- Set internal governance policies and manage the impact of external factors. Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically

- Establish, review and update internal rules, policies and guidelines to meet best practice regulatory and industry standards for the management of legal and documentary risks

- Provide support on the Information Technology Act (ITA), IPRs, Companies Act and related issues

- Maintain relationship with the statutory authorities and ensure a smooth transaction with them

- Prepare the work orders, drafting and vetting agreements, correspondences, and notices. Draft agreements such that they minimize risks and maximize legal rights

- Extend advice on various legal matters on a regular basis. Keep abreast of legislative changes

- Take care of day to day legal matters

Qualifications / Experience:

- LLB (LLB & CS preferable) with 6-7 years of relevant experience, preferably at least 3-4 yrs in media industry

- Sound Theoretical and practical knowledge required. Should have very good knowledge of Civil Laws, Criminal Laws, Commercial Laws, Corporate Laws

- Sound knowledge + experience of drawing up and vetting contracts/agreements, routine legal correspondences and notices. Good drafting skills

- Should have exposure in compliance management and review within the organization.

- Must have good personality with very good communication skills

- Practical and problem solving approach with ability to meet deliverable expectations of management
