Job Description:

- Designs and develops instructional material for engineering students.

- Demonstrates and utilizes effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.

- Able to utilize multimedia technology and authoring tools.

- Acts as liaison between R & D and I.D. in determining needs of the course.

KRA:

- Develop eLearning material for a variety of subjects in the engineering fields from inception to completion

- Analyze learning aims and objectives and work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design solutions that align with these

- Apply instructional design theories and practice

- Develop innovative ideas for e-Learning resources

- Work effectively with colleagues to create compelling and engaging deliverables

- Ensure good quality of all deliverables to clients

- Plan internal reviews and subsequent updates of work prior to delivery

- Use appropriate writing styles to make content easy to understand for the target audience

- Discuss ideas for images, graphics and animations with a senior team member before specifying them for development

- Follow the development process

- Communicate effectively with the development team

- Maintain project documentation and course folders during the project lifecycle

- Plan time effectively and work with senior team members to ensure you can meet deadlines on multiple projects

- Be aware of time spent on a project to discuss with senior team members

- Raise any project concerns or issues

- Other activities prescribed by the e-Learning development manager

Knowledge: Must possess required knowledge in the engineering subjects and be able to explain and demonstrate, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

Key Skills and Competencies:

- Qualifications in engineering with instructional/curriculum design

- Degree educated or equivalent

- Instructional design experience in the creation of e-Learning

- Demonstrable writing ability

- Good visual design skills and the ability to storyboard

- Good verbal communicator

- Enthusiastic

- Smart and presentable

- Organised with a "can do" attitude

- Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment

- Minimum 3 year experience in online development

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
