Hiring for the position of 'Sr. Data Scientist' for a leading Online Travel company based out of NCR

Key attributes :

- A strong passion for empirical research, and for identifying and answering questions that helps the company build the best products

- Highly curious and enjoys diving deep into the material to find an answer to a yet unknown question. Natural desire to go beneath the surface of a problem.

- Needs to be able to communicate findings, orally and visually

- Self-starter, able to work autonomously

- Knowledgeable of concepts such as: natural language processing, machine learning, conceptual modeling, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, hypothesis testing

Responsibilities:

- Lead overall analytics for the company with the goal of identifying actionable consumer insights that can be used to build the best consumer experience

- Work closely with a product / business teams to identify and answer important questions

- Sample projects include: recommendation engine, personalized customer experience, dynamic discounting algorithm, natural language search, etc.

Requirements:

- M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field, or 7-10 years experience in a relevant role

- Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches

- Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources

- A flexible analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision

- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL

- Expert knowledge of an analysis tool such as R, Matlab, or SAS

- Experience working with large data sets, experience working with distributed computing tools a plus (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc.)

- Able to create examples, prototypes, demonstrations to help key stakeholders better understand the work
