Position: Senior Counsel-Legal Compliance for a Financial Services firm in Bangalore

Location: Bangalore

Qualification: L.L.B./L.L.M from an accredited law school and a company secretary (CS)

Experience: +6 years post qualification experience

Office Timings-2-11 PM

Job Role:

- Responsible for supporting the Company’s global regulatory compliance and licensing activities for mortgage servicing and origination, including maintaining policies and procedures, coordinating licensing renewals with state agencies and reviewing business practices for compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

- Provide hands-on negotiation, drafting and administration of contracts, including finance, commercial, non-disclosure, intellectual property licensing, asset management and other related contracts.

- Serve as legal contact for all matters pertaining to State and Country laws and regulations applicable to the business.

- Determine optimal compliance program to ensure compliance with aforementioned regulations.

- Monitor changes in aforementioned regulations and communicate changes to appropriate personnel.

- Provide timely advice to the company on compliance policy with regard to emerging legislation, agency action, and government sponsored programs and developing industry standards.

- Draft and negotiate contracts ensuring adherence to Indian statutory compliances and company policy.

- Draft and maintain library of template agreements for use with third parties.

- Manage India-based company law department staff

- The ideal candidate will have broad transactional law experience, preferably including mergers and acquisitions, real estate, commercial, financing, intellectual property licensing and international transactions.

- Should have excellent oratory & drafting skills and have requisite exposure to Corporate, Consumer, Civil, MRTP & Arbitration matters or Labour & Criminal justice matters with a through knowledge of legal compliances and implications of notices etc.

- Should be comfortable working with local government officials, national consumer groups, the media and all employee levels including company executives.

- Willingness to travel within India.
