JOB PROFILE FOR

Job Purpose

- Manage the improvement and maintenance of data integrity across Barclays Corporate systems by undertaking data analysis, development and maintenance across the following processes and systems:-

Data Quality Reporting System (DQRS)

Lend3 (SOx control)

DPC Collateral

AFTS

Product Summaries

QV & Data Integrity Check

Ad-hoc requests to support new data MI e.g. RWA initiatives, audit actions etc

- Develop new Data Quality Reporting System (DQRS) reports through identification of data contained in Barclays Information warehouse (BIW)

- Identify and provide complex data extracts and develop Teradata Structure Query Language (SQL) scripts to produce new and existing reports

- Maintain DQRS through manipulation of coding using UNIX

- Interpret user requirements in order to develop SQL scripts to produce relevant data/MI reports

Main Accountabilities and approximate time split

Data Development and Maintenance (70%)

- Undertake investigations, business analysis and making recommendations for the development and implementation of new data MI/reporting

- Production of new SQL scripts and the enhancement of existing scripts to support all existing processes and systems (listed above)

- Support DQRS, ensuring the integrity of the supporting databases and associated processes

- Create and maintain SQL programming and shell scripts (in Unix) which are sufficiently robust to enable regular production of processes with the minimum of manual intervention

- Support the development and maintenance of complex databases to enable the production MI

- Identify and recommend effective solutions to address issues, problems and new initiatives

- Work independently on areas of development activities

Team Working (20%)

- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships within the team and with BarCorp internal stakeholders e.g. other areas within Risk, Finance etc

- Prioritize and manage delegated activities

- Assist team members with data issues and encouraging best practices

Change Management (10%)

- Manage own time and priorities within constraints set by line manager

- Ensure issues are analysed and addressed providing detailed and summary reports as required

Technical Skills/Competencies

Skills/ competencies required to undertake the role:

- Advanced knowledge of Teradata SQL and the rules governing relational databases -

- Advanced knowledge of UNIX

- Detailed knowledge of building and using BI Query in order to create user interfaces to relevant databases

- Excellent knowledge of Barclays systems

- PC Literate - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Access

- A proven self-starter able to use initiative and employ a high degree of innovative thinking

- Sound time management and organizational skills

- BIW contains a series of relational databases and the jobholder must be fluent in SQL and the rules governing relational databases.

BIW is based on a UNIX system. It is necessary to use UNIX commands in order to make the best use of the system

Knowledge and Expertise (relating to specialist knowledge and expertise required to undertake the role. May include knowledge of the Bank's products, services and policies)

Essential

- A good understanding of Barclays Corporate processes and systems

- Ability to communicate with a diverse customer base (both written and oral)

- Analytical and problem solving skills

Preferred

A good knowledge and business interpretation of one or more of the following:-

- Zeus

- Customer Gateway

- Branch accounting (UKBA)

- Automated Facility Letters (AFL)

- Securities System

- GTSA/SOLD
