Position profile for Senior Internal Audit – IT/SOX  The Organization is the largest independent mortgage loan servicer in the United States and the fourth largest overall mortgage servicer. It is publicly traded (NYSE:OCN) and is widely recognized in government, industry, community and media circles as a leader in foreclosure prevention, mainly through loan modifications. Over the past few years, it has enjoyed significant growth in its loan servicing portfolio and market capitalization, largely as a result of successfully integrating servicing platforms acquired from large financial institutions.  As a leader in loan modifications, we strive to help struggling families meet their financial responsibilities and stay in their homes as well as help them address the concerns and complex questions they may have about their home and mortgage  - The successful candidate, under general supervision, will perform duties to ensure compliance with Internal Audit, Internal Controls [SOX], Operational Policies and Procedures and COBIT and IIA Professional Standards.  - The candidate will participates on cross-functional teams and act as point person on Internal Audit and SOX engagements (Internal Audit projects, SOX, Risk Assessment, advisory projects, etc.).   - In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent communication and social skills, with demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with accounting, finance, risk and operations personnel, with a willingness to foster an understanding of the Company’s risk appetite, control environment, compliance expectations and have an eye for continuous process improvement.   The Senior IT/SOX Auditor position is a member of the Internal Audit and Financial Controls Teams, reporting directly to the Assistant Manager  Responsibilities:  - Performs operational and technology audits throughout the Company with minimal supervision to assess overall risk the business unit and Company.  - Review the adequacy of the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls over the Company’s IT, Financial and Business Operational processes. Offer suggestions to improve internal controls, work processes, and problem solve.  - Perform extensive background research on the Audit/SOX areas; help define the scope and objectives, and develop a detailed understanding of the activity under audit, including risks and controls, within a limited time period. Document this understanding through a flowchart/narrative illustrating risks and internal controls strengths and weaknesses.  - Perform tests and analyses, gather audit evidence, evaluate results, and develop conclusions regarding the adequacy of internal controls. Document the work performed and conclusions.  - Discuss the results of audit tests and conclusions with management and obtain agreement on facts. Write observations and recommendations to include in the audit report to management and discuss solution options with management.   Key Result Areas:   - Assess risks and internal control strengths and weaknesses. Create new testing guidance or audit program outlining the testing and audit evidence required to meet the audit objectives. Perform audits with an integrated audit approach  - Assist management with the development of controls in an advisory capacity  - Maintain an understanding of the audit budget/SOX timelines. Monitor activities for compliance with the budget/SOX timelines and notify the Audit Manager of budget overruns/missed SOX deadlines and the reasoning.  - Research and share best practices, professional trends, and personal expertise with the audit team to improve audit core competencies.  - Ensure compliance with the Standards for the Professional Practices of Internal Auditing, Company Internal Audit Standards, and Company Policies and Procedures.   Qualification:  - A Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems or Accounting  - Professional certification in internal auditing (CIA, CISA, CFE), accounting (CPA, CMA, CA, MBA), preferred.   - Experience in the Mortgage Servicing industry is a plus.   - 3 or more years work experience in auditing, IT, or information security. Working knowledge of COBIT and IIA/ISACA best practices (prior audit and SOX experience required).  - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
