Sr Actuarial Analyst - General Insurance (2-5 yrs)

Required qualification/ experience:

- Graduate / PG in Mathematics / Statistics / Computer applications / Actuarial Science;

- Having passed at least 3-4 CT actuarial papers from the Institute of Actuaries or equivalent;

- Good knowledge of General Insurance products and product design features;

- Worked for at least 2+ years in a General Insurance company – in any actuarial capacity, including product development, pricing, financial reporting, reinsurance or valuation;

- Good command of the English language and ability to articulate thought process to onshore clients (primarily, UK based clients);

- Good knowledge of VBA and MS-Office packages, including MS-Excel & MS-Access and others;

- Adaptable and flexible to various ad-hoc type work requirements, from time to time

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Clear understanding of GI Reserving process and provide reserving expertise to assist in the delivery of the quarterly reserving exercise;

- Assist in the internal and external review of the overall reserving process;

- Understand and be able to quantify the uncertainty and risks which surround the reserves and future claims costs;

- Assist in the internal model approval process, including model validation, evidencing and documentation, facilitating internal and external audit process;

- Investigative ability and willingness to probe further into complex aspects and technical issues;

- Be able to communicate well and build a relationship with onshore clients;

- Ability to demonstrate understanding of the various product related issues and be able to challenge default solutions, if better alternatives exist;

- Well committed to job deliveries and successfully meeting any committed timelines;

- Participate in onshore conference calls on a weekly/ fortnightly/ monthly basis, as required, from time to time;

- Ability to methodically plan the work schedules and approach, well in advance and pro-actively communicate and obtain onshore sign off, before further progress can be made;

- Get good VOC (voice of the customer) scores from the customer, from time to time
