Head of Engineering and Product Development

Reporting to : CTO

Essential Experience : Head of Engineering or Key role in development of product involving Big Data, Scala, Spark, Java 8

Location : Mahape or Powai, Mumbai

- We are seeking a head of Engineering to lead a team of engineers across multiple locations. You will lead, manage, and inspire the engineering team to develop a next-generation analytical platform and analytical applications for Customer Intelligence in Banking

- The team includes domain consultants, architect, senior engineers, developers and data scientists who have significant experience building high scale data processing platforms with highly performance Machine learning systems.

- The candidate should show strong leadership, ability to mentor senior engineers and provide governance and oversight of the engineering process and policy.

- We are in a rapid growth phase so hiring highly talented Scala engineers will be a key responsibility and experience in this area is vital. Willingness to travel to Finland on a regular basis will also be a requirement. Most importantly, the candidate should have a passion for building and delivering high scale, performance oriented machine learning systems in Scala.

Responsibilities :

- Lead and recruit a team of engineers in Mumbai (India) and Helsinki (Finland)

- Show excellent technical knowledge with the ability to mentor senior engineers

- Lead the team by example, providing a team ownership structure

- Follow Agile processes for rapid deployment of our product

- Build to the product team roadmap and tech with expectation for rapid evolution of requirements

Required skills :

- Experience leading teams of 20+ senior engineers

- Highly skilled engineering background with Scala, Spark and Machine learning

- Banking Solution/Product Experience

- Managed international teams

- Focus on rapid development through iteration over long oversized projects

- Ability to work in a fast paced, agile work environment

- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

- Good teamwork and collaboration skills

- Ability to work in a rapid growth company
