Overall Purpose

You will work closely and extensively with finance teams and cross-functional business partners in all of our international markets of Souq ecommerce. You will be expected to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the e-Commerce business model, financial statements, performance metrics and the competitive environment in which we operate. You will be expected to develop and maintain relationships with business partners in our markets to ensure alignment on strategies to drive efficiency, accuracy and collaboration in our work. In addition to your financial knowledge and business acumen, your ability to work with all levels of partners, up to senior executives and aptitude for clear, concise and impactful visual display of information and written communication will be critical for this role.

1. Budgeting, AOP

a) Working closely with the Group FP&A Manager and leadership team determining robust assumptions to drive the rolling forecast model.

a. Primary responsibility to facilitate the identification of business goals, strategies, and initiatives through the annual business planning process.

b. Assist BU’s in formalizing the yearly revenue targets, budgets and operating plans.

c. Create & maintain a financial/business-planning model that supports the organization's mission and plans based on an internal (teams) and external (investors) needs assessment.

b) Covering the FP&A Manager on the quarterly forecast assumptions and performance to the Board.

c) Conducting the mid-year forecast with Country and regional teams and aligning teams on common objectives and strategy way forward.

2. Forecasting and modeling

a. Ensuring the 18-24 month rolling forecast model and budget accurately for all BUs so up-to-date projections can be obtained for any review meetings. It reflects the correct strategic/operational assumptions of the leadership team.

b. Working & rolling out with internal teams –

i. Monthly internal plans – Topline, GP, category level.

ii. Monthly forecasts, identifying trends early and flagging teams if below the plans and recommend corrective actions to achieve plans.

c. Conducting Weekly forecasting and planning meeting with Country and regional managers.

d. Build long range, short range forecasting and projections models along with various internal teams.

3. Business Analysis

a. Partner with teams across the Souq markets to understand the financial impact of projects (requiring ROI, NPV and DCF financial modeling) to analyze the business from new value-added perspectives

b. Demonstrates expertise in financial analysis across a multitude of business operations, recommending efficiencies and savings or calling out risks or opportunities. Run simulations on various “what-if” scenarios using insight and critical thinking to evaluate and make recommendations to drive long term profitability on future initiatives.

c. Stays up-to-date on competitors and retail innovations and incorporates this into day-to-day analysis

d. Lead, build and drive Order economics for all sorts of decision making by business teams and work with them to help them understand the financial impact of the decisions they take and also identifying areas where they can bring more efficiencies.

e. Provide input for business decisions by producing detailed financial models and P&Ls incorporating assumptions, expectations and known risks; Prepare presentations and other supporting materials.

4. Research and Analysis

a. Study comparable markets and companies, draw benchmarks on P&L, BS and overall evolution of business models and see applicability on Souq.

b. Use research to help in planning / forecasting.

Desired Skills and Experience

- 5+ years of related work experience in a finance-related field (including management consulting, investment banking, corporate finance) - FMCG, retail, and e-commerce experience preferred

- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA-finance / ACCA

- Demonstrated exceptional analytical and quantitative skills

- Demonstrated record of process improvement

- Rigorous attention to detail

- Passion to learn and ability to absorb new information rapidly

- Strong written and verbal communication

- Solid understanding of accounting principles

- Must have substantial experience with MS Excel; Experience in Macro writing and/or VBA coding is preferred.
