Job Title: Solution Architect - Smart Cities

Experience Level: Minimum 15 years. Preferably with System Integrators / Consultants / Command & Control OEMs in Smart City / Safe City / IOT / Critical Infrastructure Protection / eGovernance/ WAN/MAN projects

Location: New Delhi, Mumbai (Based location will be Delhi/Mumbai but the candidate must be willing to travel extensively for ensuring coverage)

Educational Requirements :

Must Have : B.E / B.Tech / MCA

Preference : M. Tech/ CCNA/ CCNP

Specialization if any :

- Strong experience in playing the lead Solution Architect in Smart City / Safe City / IOT / Critical Infrastructure Protection / e-Governance projects

- Large scale transformation projects, consulting engagements or building large complex architectures both for pre-sales and delivery

- Ability to assemble complex series of technologies into a cohesive integrated solution driven by business requirements

- Working knowledge of IP, Telephony, RF and IOT platforms

Position reporting to: Technical Head, Smart Cities

Brief of role and responsibilities :

- This person will be expected to Own the design and finalization of overall solution architecture for Smart City projects by collaborating with other OEMs / smaller SIs / other NEC Business Units

- Lead the design phase of the solution, participate in all remaining phases to verify that the design is installed, configured and documented correctly

- Provide subject matter expertise for Integrated Smart City solutions while creating assimilated technical solutions that focus on customer's business needs (including, but not limited to) :

Command and Control

Intelligent Transport System

Intelligent Government Services

Security and Surveillance

Citi Wi-fi

Smart Energy

Smart Water metering

Solid Waste Management

Emergency response and city incidence management

- Develop ecosystem of platforms and offerings for various smart cities solution/applications.

- Collaborate with technical team from other NEC Business units / Global SMEs to develop and execute new Smart City solutions

- Assist in the evaluation of new solutions for integration into NEC's Smart City ecosystem Road-map/Strategy

- Translate customer business issues/opportunities into technical solution/business requirements

- Deliver successful Proof of Concept engagements that demonstrate solution outcome mapping to customer needs

- Anchor RFP response and proposals to the clients from a Technical perspective

- Support the development and implementation of new business opportunities.

- Develop and/or maintain expertise in Smart City ecosystem

- Effectively support the sales and engineering teams with technical presentations

- Support Sales / BD / technical team members and train to bring them up to speed on the technical / complex strategic solutions in the Smart City realm

Nature of Job: Technical :70%, Managerial: 30%

Must Have Skills/Knowledge :

- The candidate must have 15+ years of experience in acting as a Solution Architect in the relevant domains

- The candidate must have good understanding of products and technologies used in Smart City projects

- The candidate must have experience in conceptualization, design and implementation of Solution Architecture for at least 3 large scale system integration projects in Smart City / Safe City / IOT / Critical Infrastructure Protection / eGovernance domains in the last 5 years

- The candidate must have worked on at least 1 Government project in India of similar nature in the last 5 years

- Knowledge in various areas including data center, platforms, storage, database, web services, security, service desk, ITIL etc. and Network Security solutions like Firewall, IPS, VPN, would be required.

- Broad understanding and experience of real-time analytics, data modeling and management, analytical tools Open Source Big Data technologies etc.

- Hands-on-experience in solution design & network/solution architecture development experience with an exposure of large scale implementation, including Cloud, Security, IOT & ICT Applications and Data Centre solutions.

- Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, and testing

- In-depth technical and theoretical knowledge, and experience in solving highly complex architectural design problems.

- Capability to recommend new technology directions or options

- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies(Agile, SCRUM, RUP, other)

- The candidate must have basic understanding of India's Smart Cities Mission

Preferred Skills/Knowledge :

- Established relationships and contacts with Technical teams of other complimentary OEMs / SIs in Smart Cities space will be an advantage

- Practical experience running complex Proof of Concept projects (multi-solution integration) in similar domains

- Should have been involved in installation of hardware and operating system, database and configuration, system maintenance

Additional Comments(if any):

- Should be proficient in MS office and MS Project

- Effective verbal communication skills (English, Hindi, any other regional language would be an advantage)

- Ability to be tactful and exercise good judgement and maintain efficiency under tight deadlines

- Professionalism in communications with internal business partners as well as customers and the public

- Ability and willingness to innovate and learn new technologies quickly
