Title: Solution Architect - IDC

Location: Delhi

Job Description:

This role involves overall technical responsibility for the success of infrastructure hosting solution design and offering around IDC service offerings like Managed Colocation, Managed Hosting and Cloud. They deliver new and complex high quality hosting solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements. They utilize in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology in conjunction with industry and business skills to influence clients.

- Lead and participate in architectural discussions and provide ad-hoc/prepared/well-planned advisory for various technology questions and opportunities that the client has.

- Provide a formal framework of architectural decision making and establish formal architectural thinking process with the client.

- Develop technology roadmaps for client IT Infrastructure and effectively present it to client CXO team / Technical team

- Prepare compelling technical proposals for Infrastructure Hosting solutions including architectural diagrams

- Prepare Data Center transformation roadmaps for client with the inclusion of hosting in every step from cloud

- Communicate direction both to Client & internal Account Team and Delivery teams during every phase of client engagement (Sales / Delivery / Operations)

- Positioning the right infrastructure hosting solution to client successfully providing the TCO and ROI technically as well as commercially.

- Act as an evangelist of hosting solutions (Colocation / Managed Hosting / Cloud) to government and enterprise clients as well as OEMs/Vendors

- Account planning with Sales team, Delivery team and Managed Services team

- Sizing of Hosting / Cloud solution based on customer workloads and help them to transition to IDC.

- Basic understanding and keeping abreast with industry trends and emerging technologies across all infrastructure foundations (server, storage, network, data, and applications) in order to recommend improvements and enhancements to set the direction for transition to managed Hosting / Cloud

- Participate in the development and on-going maturation of hosting services offerings from IDC and Cloud

- Conduct training workshops for internal service Bus / Client team / OEMs on IDC hosting service offerings

- Account technical ownership and continuous planning for consistent client satisfaction

- Work as a self-motivator, successful individual contributor and a great team player

Required and Desired Skills:

- Minimum of 10+ years of designing, building and supporting large IT enterprise environments

- Excellent interpersonal skills, including collaboration, communication, relationship building, and negotiation

- Strong presentation, written & verbal communication, and facilitation skills

- Ability to quickly ramp up, develop and present point of view on diverse technology areas.

- Conceptualization and development of Managed Hosting / Cloud based specific IT solutions in line with the industry and/or client demands.

- Leverage Company's internal skills other service business units and third party relationships in architecting solutions

- Experience in creating executive level presentations with MS PowerPoint & Visio

- Experience in creating professional level documentation using MS PowerPoint, Visio, Word & Excel

- Understanding on design of highly available, fault tolerant architectures for Disaster Recovery solutions

- Experience working with multiple vendors in designing / deploying large scale IT projects in Hosting environment

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

- TOGAF / ITIL V3 Certifications preferred

- CCNA / CCNP / MCSE / RHE /Vmware / NettApp Certifications preferred

Deep knowledge and experience in 2 or more domains from below.

Data Center Basic Infrastructure:

- Data Center Passive Infrastructure: Broad understanding of data center facilities, power, cooling, structured cabling, racks/cabinets, and colocation providers.

- Data Center Hosting: Understanding on commercial Internet data centers, Hosting Solutions, Private and Public cloud

- Broad understanding of infrastructure hardware and software systems including network, compute, storage and security for traditional data center hosted applications as well as virtual, private and public cloud solutions.

Data Network and Security Infrastructure:

- Deep Understanding of Network Technologies including Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Load Balancers

- Deep Understanding of Security Solutions including Firewalls, Secure Configuration, Log Management

- Deep Understanding on Multi-tenant Network and Security Solutions from various OEMs like Cisco and Fortinet

Data Center Server and Storage Infrastructure:

- Understanding of the Server Technologies including Rack, Chassis and Blade and Dell / IBM / Cisco / HP products

- Understanding of Converged infrastructure platforms like Flexpod / Vblock

- Understanding of Storage Technologies including SAN, NAS, tiered storage architectures and NetApp/EMC product

- Understanding of Compute platforms including vertically and horizontally scaling solutions on physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

- Knowledge of Server Operating Systems including Windows Server and various Linux flavors

- Broad Knowledge of Managed services like Monitoring and managing the IT infrastructure for client

- Knowledge on backup and clusters

Virtualization and Cloud:

- Knowledge of Virtual environments and hypervisor management (VMware ESX, KVM, Xen, MS Hyper-V)

- Various Cloud flavors like Public and Private Cloud

- Cloud Orchestration layer

- Transition of client workload to cloud environment
