Solution Architect - BFSI (12-16 yrs)

The Solution Architect takes accountability for leading end to end design of high quality solutions within their platformof focus or other platforms as assignments require. Usually a platform corresponds to a business vertical, but can also be conceptualized around a set of technologies

- The Solution Architect is responsible for driving and coordinating the design thinking and articulation from high level through to detail, working with and leading other designers (including application design, integration design, infrastructure design, security, etc).

- The SA shall ensure a robust, extensible, fit for purpose, cost effective, enterprise aligned technology solution design for the project that incrementally progresses the broader Platform towards a more simplified, robust, supportable, scalable, extensible and agile capability.

The responsibilities include:

- Analyse and interpret functional & non-functional requirements to determine a solution for a specific business project within the approved scope.

- The solution designed needs to be consistent with the Platform and Enterprise Architecture blueprints and roadmaps, and conformant with the enterprise architecture principles and methods.

- Provide technical consultancy and guide detailed design. Address technology challenges face by the team and provide overall technical leadership.

- Provide inputs into project plans, estimations and development roadmaps.

- Expand the pool of architectural/design knowledge and re-usable designs.

- Understand the business and work with stakeholders to understand their needs. Ensure that solutions address all concerns.

Experience:

- 12 years of IT experience with minimum 7 years Solution architecture experience.

- Should have architected large enterprise level solutions, providing leadership to a technical team.

- Strong knowledge of software engineering concepts and ability to address technical risks.

- Proficiency in addressing NFR challenges for large and complex systems.

- Good knowledge of Java and/or Microsoft and/or mainframe technologies.

- Experience with specialized niche technologies/tools used for business applications.

- Capability to address technology challenges faced by the team. Ability to define patterns and frameworks for usage of new technologies.

- Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle.

- Ability to architect solutions within the objectives and parameters defined at the enterprise level.

- Has broad business knowledge across multiple segments. Deep business knowledge in more than one business domain. Banking domain knowledge will be an advantage.

- Proficient in business modelling methods/notations and requirements analysis.

- Has knowledge of PM Deliverables across the whole SDLC. Has provided project advice and direction around deployment, release strategy etc.

- Has provided effort estimates and change impact assessment

- Has identified and knows key stakeholders and their expectations at project commencement.

- Have lead meetings with stakeholders and managed stakeholder expectations.

- Have negotiated changes in expectations. Have influenced decisions with key business stakeholders on project direction.
