Company Profile  Snow Leopard is a 5 year old investment firm based out of Pune, India that focuses on early stage investments (seed, pre-series A, Series A).   Position Overview :   Snow Leopard is looking to hire an individual for the role of, VP Finance / Finance Controller, to manage and oversee the day-to-day financial affairs of the investment firm.   Duties & Responsibilities :   Monitoring Portfolio Companies :   Ensure compliance and governance followed at companies  Design, and manage MIS reporting from the portfolio companies  Monthly presentations on the performance at the companies to the limited partners - presentations should be numerically based along with graphics (graphs)  Analytical responsibilities on portfolio company performance and ability to answer the Why And not just the What   New Investments :   Help the founder in identifying new candidates for investment  Manage flow of inbound investment candidates  Lead due diligence processes  - Maintain relations with firms that engage in due diligence  - Lead due diligence process  - Ability to ask pertinent questions whilest understanding the nuances of being a minority investor  - Question entrepreneur assumptions  - Ultimately responsibility for financial portions of a potential investee company's due diligence  Structuring of New Investments :  Negotiating and executing investment agreements (IAs) with a primarily financial point of view in mind, in the form of share subscription/shareholder agreements for investments in private limited companies and understanding the complexities and nuances of these agreements, with the latter primarily to be owned by the legal representative from Snow Leopard's side  General :   Perform financial analyses which may include the following :  - Discounted cash flow  - Public comparables  - Acquisition comparables   - Pro forma combination analyses  - Cap table analytics  - Portfolio analytics  Build three-statement full-blown financial models for portfolio company analytics including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement  Analyze performance of portfolio companies on an ongoing basis and highlight lagging areas or areas where the firm can potentially add value  Analyze the impact of a proposed combination, divestiture, acquisition on earnings, credit profile and value  Responsibility for the preparation of presentation and marketing materials, investment committee memorandums and management and board of directors presentations with the support of the Investment Associate  Tracking expenses as per budgets  Vendor payments and relations  Maintaining vouchers for all payments  TDS payments, service tax payments, challans  Monthly liaisoning with external accountants   Tracking yearly payments and renewals  Liaisoning with auditors on certifications, audit documents, etc.  Supporting all audit formalities  Co-ordinating with accountants, bankers for audit queries  Maintaining records for audit purposes, SEBI compliance purposes  Other :   Looking for highly transparent, open individuals where honesty and hard work are placed as the utmost highest priorities  Willingness to work overtime, late, weekends, while on vacation  Education and Experience :   Top 15% ranking throughout academic career at top-tier schools in India or abroad with transcript records available  At least 4-7 years of audit / VP Finance / Junior-CFO experience from a top-tier, recognizable firm with relevant, direct experience and primary responsibility   Foreign work experience in the USA or Europe for at least 2 - 3 years if possible  Stellar track record before finance in electrical engineering or computer science helpful  A strong understanding of the Indian ecosystem  Knowledge and Skills :   Chartered accountant (CA), CFA, CS (Company Secretary)   Strong industry knowledge, analytical skills, interpersonal people skills, valuation skills  Extremely strong grasp of written and spoken English, both grammatically and colloquially  Extremely hard working, proactive individual looking to build a long-term career with an investment firm  Interests outside of work should place value on a healthy lifestyle  High degree of intellectual curiosity  Team player with ability to work in small groups  Strong ability to format and model in excel with extremely fast grasp of shortcut key combinations  Strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint  Experience working with both Apple and Windows operating systems  Understanding of how to speak on the phone, write an email, go to dinner, have a conversation, from a global perspective  Understanding of social media and its implications  Understanding of confidentiality and its implications  Other  Live in Pune or be prepared to move to Pune  Performance linked incentive structure  International travel  You should be fairly fast at typing on a computer and smartphone  Record of high achievement, superior maturity, integrity  Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative analysis  Superior attention to detail, high energy, positive attitude  Ability to break down highly complex problems into basic building blocks  Be prepared to work very hard in a high stress environment -
