- Merce Technologies, based out at Mumbai, India, is an information systems and technology company. The company creates cutting edge software products and also offer services in the area of software development and IS infrastructure. The company was incorporated in 2000.

- The Merce team works with various technologies and has developed large systems in Perl, Java, PHP, and MS dotNet. Merce builds applications with browser-based front-ends (to run on Linux and MS Windows servers) and mobile applications (PhoneGap, with Ionic). Merce's teams work at client site as well as in their office in Navi Mumbai. Their clients include the NSE, NSDL, ICICI, Reliance group, SBI group, India Infoline, Edelweiss group, IDBI Bank, and many others.

- This position of Senior Manager- Recruitment is an important position at Merce Technlogies. They have entrusted The Growth Factory with the task of filling this position.

Position : Senior Manager - Recruitment

Position Overview :

This position is an important position for Merce Technologies. The key responsibility of the Sr. Manager - Recruitment, is to source & attract the required talent to Merce Technologies so that the company can meet its business aspirations. Further, the incumbent is also required to analyse the performance of the recruited candidates, and fine-tune future recruitment strategies accordingly.

Job Responsibilities:

Sourcing of talent

- Identifying & reaching out to multiple sources for recruiting the right IT talent. These should include but will not be limited to - Job portals, recruitment agencies specialising in IT recruitment, engineering colleges & other IT institutes known for their IT curriculum, etc.

- Ensuring that Merce Technologies becomes a known brand name and gains a good reputation as a recruiter of choice for IT talent.

- Building good relationships with key decision makers in the appropriate institutions.

- Ensuring that the cost of recruitment is kept under budgetary control.

- Benchmarking Merce compensation packages with rest of industry suitably and ensuring that the company does not pay more than necessary for its talent.

Filling Vacancies :

- Interfacing with the technical & business functions to understand vacancies in detail, and the time frames for fulfilment.

- Creating an effective Job Description with the correct technical specifications & candidate profile. Distinguishing between - Must-have- characteristics & - Good-to-Have- characteristics and recruiting appropriately.

- Posting Jobs on various job portals and to other sources, as required.

- Shortlisting candidates on the basis of requirements. Ensuring that shortlisted candidates meet the - must-have- criteria.

- Organising interview panels for interviews with the selected candidates and ensuring that multiple choices are available for recruitment post the - final interview- stage.

Recruitment & Induction process :

- Strengthening the recruitment process by designing/sourcing & using appropriate tools such as online technical tests, psychometric tests etc.

- Improving the induction process for new recruits.

- Improving the Join Ratio (ratio of candidates offered a position and candidates who actually join)

Induction & Performance Monitoring :

- Ensuring that the on-boarding experience for all new recruits is a pleasant experience and that the induction is appropriately detailed.

- Ensuring that all the administrative aspects required for a new joinee to become productive quickly are taken care of.

- Monitoring performance of the new recruits over the first few months to ensure a satisfactory integration for the employee.

- Improving the - Sticky Rate- (percentage of total fresh recruits who continue to work in Merce for at least 4 weeks)

Skills & Competencies :

- Appropriate Information Technology background. Sufficient domain IT knowledge.

- Proven track record/work experience in IT recruitment.

- Excellent communication skills. Fair bit of experience in creating Job Descriptions.

- Good Interviewing skills.

- Good judge of human character.

- Detailed Knowledge of various sources of recruitment.

- Basic Computer skills.

Accountability and Performance Measures :

- Understanding organisational requirements of talent correctly.

- Relationships with various sources for IT recruitment.

- Attracting the right talent to Merce.

- Timely & suitable filling of positions.

- Periodic performance review of the newly recruited candidate.

- Keeping recruitment costs under control.

Candidate Profile :

Age : 30-35 years of age.

Education : MBA in HR., BSc/Diploma in Information Technology preferred.

Experience : 5-7 years of experience in similar recruitment functions is a must.

Place of Work : Millennium Business Park, Mahape, Navi Mumbai.
