Amazon mobile shopping is one of Amazon's fastest growing new initiatives. The mobile product manager in India is responsible for working with the worldwide Amazon team to bring world-class mobile shopping experiences to Indian customers.

Focused on mobile commerce, the product manager would support mobile browser experiences across platforms and shopping applications (apps) on Smartphone and mobile computing platforms including Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows Phone, and Kindle Fire.

Amazon's experience in retail, technology and mobile services provides a strong foundation for future development in this arena, and we- re moving aggressively to build new and innovative solutions for Indian customers.

- The ideal candidate would have an understanding of the global mobile commerce trends with an eye on the local complexities.

- He or she would be enthusiastic about managing challenging, lengthy projects across multiple teams and locations, and will be comfortable marshaling large amounts of data to make decisions and build business cases.

- We are looking for a product manager who shares Amazon's passion for the customer- someone who understands the importance of compelling features and functionalities in driving great customer experiences.

- The position is located in Bangalore, India, and reports into the international retail team's product management group.

- Focus and deliverable As the Product Manager.

Your key responsibilities will include :

- Defining a world-class customer experience that bridges the online and mobile channels

- Identifying, prioritizing and implementing India specific improvement opportunities across mobile web and apps

- Working with the global mobile teams to drive customization's and roll out of global experience in India

- Benchmark competitive mobile experiences; and define and implement a road map of improvements that ensure Amazon leadership in mobile shopping

- Ideal candidate profile The mobile PM is a passionate customer advocate within Amazon and has a deep understanding of the importance of mobile for online retailing in India.

- To that end, he or she must be able to develop a clear strategy and business rationale for enhancement to and expansion of different features and functionalities.

- He or she will work with many different parts of the Amazon organization, and as such, will need to be an effective influence as well as a passionate leader.

- An ideal candidate profile may include experiences of working on mobile specific initiatives in retail or other industries. This leader will be known for thinking very big and be simultaneously able to dive deep into details.

- The candidate may have experience working in a multinational corporation and proven success at leveraging central resource groups on behalf of the business.

- This person will have a track record as an inspirational people influences.

Basic Qualifications :

Must-have experience/criteria for role:

- Proven track record of customer obsession.

- Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically.

- Ability to prioritize in an ambiguous environment.

- 5+ years of total experience. Preferably 3+ years of product management experience post MBA

- Demonstrated ability to formulate data-driven decisions that lead to results.

- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects.

- Exceptional interpersonal, communication (spoken and written) and influencing skills and an ability to navigate a complex and unstructured cross-functional environment.

- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making and comfort with pro-forma financial and operational analysis

- Implementation orientation; demonstrated ability to translate strategic differentiates into innovative and detailed product requirements

- Proven ability to make smart feature (customer experience) versus time-to-market trade-offs Experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value

- Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

- Street smarts; willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals
