Senior Manager - Research & Development - Personal & Skin Care

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out formulation and evaluation of skin foundation products as per market demand, Achieving product specifications in accordance with FDA requirements and generating and maintaining the documentations for FDA approvals, Carrying out experimental studies for cost reduction and product improvement,Carrying out scale-up activities based on Laboratory experiments and scale up.

Involved in production planning and resolved various technical issues in production facility Development of product specification sheets (MSDS) closely supervising and helping out in packaging department work including product compatibility and stability studies, Involved in decision making for instrument and equipment purchasing for laboratory and plant development and make various sop as per ISO and make capital budgeting system in terms of various sop as per ISO and make capital budgeting system in terms of various expenditure and their justifications Ensure a common understanding and alignment of category strategy and direction exist within Formulation team Responsible for the development and delivery of compliant skin care formulations incl. claims and testing from concept to successful production runs

Skills

Conversant with R & D, quality control, scale up to final production. R&D Activities: New product development, Product stabilisation, QC control, scale-ups, maintaining technical records, supporting production department, interacting with vendors, etc. Conversant with Technical standards like BIS, IP, USP, BP, etc. Have worked in various types of color cosmetics, skin foundation, hair colour, etc. Have hands on experience in emulsification, micro-capsulation, powder blending, etc.

Knowledge

A good knowledge of R&D processes and organization in consumer-goods companies is needed

Extensive knowledge of technical applications and manufacturing implication, method Good knowledge of most important IT tools for product development. Responsible for new analytical methods development & their validation for the analysis of raw material, intermediates and finished products /Work closely with application users / customers to develop and trouble shoot products Work closely with Quality dept. to ensure products are developed in line with regulatory requirements, safety and conforming to Indian and international cosmetic standards.
