Senior Manager, Reporting and Business Analysis - Life Reporting

Main Purpose Of Job :

Manage the Asia life business towards the achievement of regional performance targets through the provision of timely and accurate financial reporting, management reporting and insightful business analysis of the actual, budget, forecast and strategic plan performance to the Group and Regional management. Ensure the financial reporting processes are completed in an accurate, consistent, timely and cost effective manner and in accordance with accounting standards.

The key responsibilities of this role are to :

Drive the financial and management reporting processes including Group Monthly Dashboard, Clearance packs, Quarterly Business Review and Regional Finance Dashboard incorporating profit, value, margin analysis and supporting commentaries/footnotes :

- Review and understand Group financial reporting instructions

- Communicate clearly defined, tailored and timely financial reporting instructions / timetables to Local Entities, ensuring they are consistent with Group standards, documented, widely understood and enforced

- Conduct local results clearance and follow up with Local Entities / Finance Business Partners

- Produce Asia performance results across the region incorporating high quality standards of analysis and insightful commentaries that provide a clear and transparent view of performance

- Manage the Asia consolidation with good file maintenance of the historical data. Develop consistent and effective Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) wherever possible in line with Group and Regional requirements for continuous assessment and comparison across all countries

- Leverage the support of Finance Business Partners to conduct critical review of performance reports and associated analysis / commentaries prepared by Local Entities

- Report findings and clearance results to the Group and Regional management

- Work closely with the Reporting & Governance team to ensure all management and performance results reporting consistent with financial reporting

- Provide ad-hoc technical accounting support for transactions across the business

Regularly review financial and management reporting processes to suggest opportunities for improvement in terms of effectiveness and efficiency.

- Propose/ discuss changes to existing reports/ KPIs to improve the benefits generated from reporting activities

- Ensure regional reports whenever possible are centralized and entities have minimal dual reporting to regional/ group

- Ensure only useful financial reporting activities are undertaken in a costs effective manner

- Manage the preparation for clearance meetings with key stakeholders to understand the business performance and resolve issues with local entities/ finance business partners as needed in an efficient manner

Drive the budget revision, forecasting and strategic planning processes :

- Deliver the consolidated Asia packs in a timely and clear manner

- Ensure consistency, uniformity and quality of forecasting e.g. monthly forecast, pre-close half year, pre-close full-year through clear articulation of Group / Regional requirements to Local Entities and critical review/analysis of results to provide a forward looking view of performance

- Leverage the support of Finance Business Partners to conduct critical review of forecast and associated analysis / commentaries prepared by Local Entities

- Provide support if required to the strategy team to deliver the process of strategic planning and STI reporting processes

- Manage the delivery of STI reporting at the Local Entity Level

Work with the regional finance transformation team on the Management Information System project :

- Assist to select and define KPIs

- Understand differences in reporting between numbers from the policy administration system and the ones provided directly from entities, propose resolution and way-forward

- Streamline the reporting processes in Local Entities and the Regional Office

- Deliver training to enhance Local Entity capabilities around financial, management and performance reporting disciplines, including performance driver concepts, reporting process & technology and key performance indicators used across the AXA Group

- Project Support

- Provide ad hoc accounting and reporting support

Experience/Qualification :

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Actuarial discipline

- CA, CPA or qualified Actuary

- Minimum of 8 years insurance industry experience
