Primary responsibilities:
- Quality assure the outputs of the team.
- Manage delivery of the Insurance Broking and Benefit Solutions - sub teams.
- Develop process and tools to ensure continuous improvements in performance of the team.
Generic responsibilities:
- Understand the different areas of operations in the CLIENT (either on the Insurance Broking or the Employee Benefits space)
- Understand the operating procedures/regulations governing both the spheres of operation
- Lead, motivate, counsel, develop and coach team members, business stakeholders, other resources
- Effectively implement error and omission initiatives in consultation with other entities in CLIENT.
- Effective liaison with various departments within group companies and CLIENT to gain support and resolve issues
- Ensure that there is a methodology developed and a standard operating procedure for the team.
- Ensure active management of communication to stakeholders.
- Proactively identify problems and presenting solutions.
- Develop & improvise systems and processes.
- Place insurance business with brokers in India for all CLIENT employees
- Identify training needs and implement training programs for all team members, to build capability for creating a Centre of Excellence.
Risk Mitigation responsibilities:
- Managing Quality Assurance (QA) requirements of CLIENT Group companies by ensuring appropriate and qualitative QA coverage of their businesses.
- Ensuring that there is a common approach in the team to the QA work undertaken for different group companies.
- Understanding the long term QA policy of the CLIENT and aligning local practices accordingly.
- Establishing dialogue with operating entities on driving continuous improvements to reduce recurrence of historical findings.
- Building effective networks between CLIENT for increasing the level of rigour in QA work.
- Using data analytics to create effective reporting on the control environment of the group companies .
- Taking efforts for creating standard reporting templates on QA work to ensure capture of crucial information in QA reports.
Legal responsibilities (preferable):
- Oversee all legal matters of CLIENT to ensure adequate protection of legal interests and/or rights
- Assist in contract reviews as a member of the CLIENT India legal team
- Direct audits high stake contracts entered into by the business
- To conduct research and make presentations on recent legal and regulatory developments and to provide business with pragmatic and workable solutions on operation of international laws and practices.
- To advise business on queries relating to legislations, sanctions and regulations pertaining to different geographies.
- Managing and coordinating litigation/other proceedings in which the Group is party including preparation of written submissions.
- Drafting and review of business and commercial agreements, non-disclosure agreements, broker agreements and other communication with customers.
- To create and update standard contract templates and forms of different commercial contracts to ensure prompt response to business requirements.
- Interaction with stakeholder and business team to understand their requirements on delivery and ensure quality output from the team.

9 - 12 years of experience in the General Insurance industry with exposure to/knowledge of Risk & Compliance/ Internal Controls/Products & Services teams;
OR
9 - 12 years of experience in the Legal domain from MNC financial services (preferably Insurance / General Insurance) with proven track record in service delivery
Be able to manage a team and extract delivery and deliver individual results
Masters in Business Administration/ Graduate plus certification from CII or III
LLB/ LLM from a recognised university (preferred)
Strong academic background
